chips, so if I understand you correctly hedging losses can be an important tool. you might use hedging if your dd is at a high level? once 1 leg is in profit you can close this out. then wait for the cycle to hopefully close the other leg in profit. ...

I also cant see why anybody would hedge, because right at that moment you`re taking the loss and your equity will be down isnt it? without a hedge your margin will be higher. so what is the advantage of hedging?

sadly you`re all wasting your time with these "funny" guys. they`re not out to learn anything - that sounds like work! they`re only here to have a bit of "fun", so the more somebody engages with them, the better they like it. ------------ignore or ...

tomorrow I will start with my version and I`ll let yous know how it goes. my choice is eur/usd having a low spread and high 10-day ATR of 136. probably start with a 0.25 lot and do the opposite 0.5 lot when price goes against me. no demo - real ...

hi kilian. I think you did not get my example. if price comes back between 1.3085 and 1.3050 and you used quite a bit of margin, you can elect to take the loss, which would be on average 17.5 pips + spread on a 0.2 lot. not bad if your potential ...

[quote=Jure86;5376600]Not good idea I think because market is in range about 70% or somethink like that.[/quote/ yes maybe so but that is why we keep buying the same quantity after the initial order. price will have to go higher and/or lower that ...

obviously this strategy keeps buying/selling in the range until the pair finds its direction for the day. instead of spiralling out of control with the ever increasing lot size on a ranging day when you probably shouldn`t have a trade on anyway what ...

NB, dont know how you calculate the volatility of a pair, but I look at the difference between high and low of the last year as a percentage of the low. the best pairs are usd/cad 7.4%, gbp/cad 7.5%, usd/hkd 7.9%, eur/cad 8.2%, gbp/usd 9.3%, eur/gbp ...

just the 1 account with IB am curious which pairs you will settle on............... why not try to have the 8 main currencies presented equally. so 4 or 8 pairs. in that way none is overpresented and causing major problems if 1 currency takes off.

censura, you hedge at -100 pips: what is the rush to close out these 2 trades - price might come back to -50 in a couple of days/weeks and you close out the trades without a loss. in the meantime your loss wont get any larger than -100 on the 2 ...

yes, you`re right......1.5% of $ 10,000 = $ 150 so with a 15 pip SL your position can be 100,000 ie a full lot. dont know if Grant`s is the better option; only the amount of profit will reveal the winner.
