I've been playing with various filters to try and avoid fake-outs ... lately I look at the trend on the H1 and only take trades in that direction ... here's the last 3 days as examples ... I realize 3 days means nothing, but I kinda like the old ...

here's a nice one ... (the default colors are different than these, but easily changed) ... it changes to "ADR REACHED" when appropriate ... and the calculations are based on actual trading days only (skip weekends)

I didn't mean to imply that's what I made on those trades ... my point was they were all positive and I was just showing by how much positive they were ... as far as exit strategy, I like fib levels ... I don't know if they really work, if it's just ...

I just had a thought ... having both levels on the chart may be useful ... the M30 s/r could be used as an alert to a potential trade, and then the H1 s/r as confirmation to actually enter ... I'll study it

because of their high correlation, I don't like taking GBP/USD and EURUSD both at the same time ... if I'm going to take 2 trades at once, I like the second to be in completely different currencies ... I haven't traded it yet, but draw your boxes ...

here's how mine looks using only 2 candles ... again, adding the spread made my long entry 1.6166 ... not sure which way is correct, 2 candles or 3 ... and haven't heard from Cain in a while ... what's the general consensus, guys ... 2 or 3?

blinkers ... I use three candles like you, but my entries were 1.6166 and 1.6107 ... Cain said in post #9 to add the spread when you go long

I had a thought I'd like some feedback on ... in the attached example, where the red arrow is circled, the first 2 conditions are met for a sell, and I'd be waiting for the last sign, i.e.: "when the price breaks the red dots" ... I know the red ...

when the price moves enuf to trigger an entry, but then reverses before hitting the first target, it's a "fake-out" that results in a loss ... Cain says to double your stake on the opposite move to recoup that loss, and that almost always works ... ...
