That was it, looking back it wasn't a spread widening, but my platform was actually disconnected for about 20 mins! Not good. This was with AxiTrader (uses Integral, as do Pepperstone). Luckily only demo, but I'll be watching the live account like a ...

All the crap aside; Jeuro, I created my own EA to trade your strategy, and it was going great until 11:20 - 11:50 GMT today (11th Jan). Which broker do you use, and what effect did the spread widening around this time have? It wiped out the profits ...

No, sorry. Although, this platform looks like it might be worth learning - with an API to VB.net http://www.fastbrokers.com/pathfinder/

Hi jeuro, As I'm sure you're aware backtesting using MT4 on Renko charts can be "sort of" done with a bit of mucking around, but trying to backtest multi-currency EA's is even more difficult (although not impossible). If you did away with the ...

Watching trades — I have been watching this trade today (on the 1 min chart just to see what happens). It seems to enter as expected, except for one thing; If a trade is closed when the BB Stop changes direction, a trade in the opposite ...

I've looked at the code and can't find anything wrong with it either. I'm not sure if this helps, but I did notice the buy signal would have been correct if the EA was running on a 5min chart.

How about using SigTrader for all of your analysis and only using your actual broker account with MPTM on it to make the actual trades? Then your not changing profiles anywhere where it can do damage.

It still looks at the other averages at the same time, I was just explaining the 200MA part of it, and therefore how the trade in question could be explained.
Yet Another Moving Average Crossover System - The EA
- skoda2008 replied Nov 8, 2011
The way it is currently programmed, the EA looks at the last bar of the 200 MA compared to the previous bar. It is not a case of whether the price is above or below the average. See how the 200 MA was basically flat when the trade took place? It ...

Ditto. I have another complaint to add to the list. Where it asks for reason for withdrawal on the form there is no where near enough space!

Were you watching it at the time? Just a guess, but maybe the MA's crossed up on the H1 temporarily at the time, but later as the price moved (down) the cross is no longer apparent. It's reasons like this that often MA cross systems look great when ...

I took my first trade using your system this morning (about 5hrs ago) and that's the pair I picked. It's doing very nicely thank you. It looks like I understand the system, after watching your comprehensive videos over the weekend - go figure! ...

Probably because the 200 EMA was in an uptrend when the H1 3 & 8 SMMA crossed over.

I've had it running on AUDUSD, EURUSD & GBPUSD. The only trade in the last 24hrs was a GBPUSD buy at 0802 GMT yesterday (ie. London Open). The EA looks at the colour of the All Averages indicator for the 200 EMA. It only looks at the 200 EMA at the ...
Yet Another Moving Average Crossover System - The EA

Yeah I know, that's why I was pointing out the difference. How the EA is coded at the moment it is looking at the long term average in a very short term way.
Yet another moving average crossover system
- skoda2008 replied Nov 3, 2011
Where the EA will differ from manual trading is with the use of the 200 EMA. If I interpret the rules correctly it's "all about the vibe" on the 200 EMA, where as the EA is only taking trades in the direction of the long term moving average. So, it ...

It seems to open the trades as per the rules in post 1, but looking at the code I don't think it will ever close the positions with the default settings. You either need to active one of the trailing stop functions, or change "Close On Opposite ...

I tried it out. Crucial VPS to Go averaged around 200ms, Crucial to Vantage there is no point quoting an average because it's so erratic, so the range is 640 -1200ms. I have read on another forum that people are experiencing 1000ms with Pepperstone ...
