Zoom out on the 4 hour/look at the daily-there's your resistance. Good e.g. of why taking 50-75% off a winning trade is a good idea. Will it continue to go up? Maybe. But some big longer term orders could kick in. But they might not. But at this ...

I have to be honest, I have no idea how you're reading all that but if you're making consistent profits with it then nice one

Long at 1.6207, price hitting SR levels and pinbar on 10 min to show rejection coming into US session url Have Heikin Ashi on bottom half of chart as I like how it smooths out price movements so I see S/R levels more clearly.

It's not just your brokers you need to worry about. You need to find out which bank they have the funds parked in too! So all in all, nowhere is 100% safe/perfect, so plan accordingly. In other words, take 50% of your profits out, maybe after each ...

ok all the jigsaw pieces are in place! Think biggest order I've had is 140k so have never had the chance of $2 per side

Aha that explains it! Does that mean you make up to 1 billion lots per month and then the discount kicks in, or it kicks in at the start of the month if you have a track record of making those levels of trades? |Either way, LMAX spreads are smaller ...

[quote=SupraSense;6294886] How the hell are you getting such low commission on IB, my charge is $2.50 MINIMUM per side. Just taken a small 40000 eurusd long position and has cost me $2.50 on one side?!

[QUOTE=SupraSense;6294805]This is not correct, they charge commission on both sides, not just one. So you're looking at an extra 0.6 pips cost with commissions for EURUSD. However, the spreads are great, and regularly 0.4 pips and even less. If you ...

Am getting a platform run through today, one of the questions I've asked already is whether I can enter a position with an SL/TP attached. Answer from them is yes I can, will know more later. I had a go on the demo and it looked like these orders ...

Robik, am no financial expert by any means, does this offer any clues r.e. the financial strength of LMAX? IN other words, how safe are they

Am a spot fx trader that uses Sierra Charts front end with Interactive Brokers account and feed. Am going to open an account with LMAX and see how it goes as the combination of ridiculously narrow spreads and good commission fees (IBs are higher) ...

Disgusted with myself, closed all out at 1.6150. Need to learn to just look at 4 hour chart when going into longer term trades like this. To be fair, big news coming up is never a good thing. url

Ummm actually yeah it is a mistake on my part. Longer term trades=wider stops+less tight entry levels. I was focussing on having just a 10 pip stop and wanted price to retrace further down to make the 10 pip stop look more comfortable. Silly thing ...

Well as I trade with such tight stops I tend to try to be more precise, but made the mistake this a.m. of using tight intraday trading rules dictate a longer term trade, which should also result in a bit more wiggle room for entry/stop levels etc. ...

What do you mean, from my platform? I try to go for exact entries, when they work they're spectacular. Having said that, I trade 2 timeframes: intraday using 4 hour/30min for levels, then drilling down to 15 min/10 min/5/min/2 min looking for ...

Steve, I set a level that I wanted price to retrace to before entering, which was 1.2929. Tomorrow is another trading day, when missing entries by just a few pips it's good to reassure yourself that you're getting the levels right, and sometimes ...
