My "Ultron" EA for GBPUSD H1 timeframe

ChicagoRob replied Aug 4, 2019Something isn’t right. My manual backtest for euraud, for 8/1/18 to 8/3/19, resulted in +373 pips. The EA result for the same period was +33 pips. The same spread was used for both tests.

ChicagoRob replied Jul 11, 2019Just a hint regarding backtesting. When doing a five-year backtest, it’s best to do it one year at a time. You want to make sure the EA is robust from one year to the next. Even though the EA might show overall profitability over a five-year test, ...

ChicagoRob replied Jul 11, 2019I was thinking the same thing. My gbpusd backtest did well in 2018, but lost in 2017. Eurusd made money both years. I need to test for the last five years. The EA needs to be robust - variable profitability is OK, but curve-fit performance won’t cut ...

ChicagoRob replied Jul 11, 2019Just looking at maximal DD percentage, v1.51 is roughly one third of the maximal DD for v1.6. Relative DD is lower, too. Factoring in other stats, such as PF and TNP, it’s clear that v1.51 is safer and more profitable.

ChicagoRob replied Jul 10, 2019Big difference in performance between v1.51 and v1.6. v1.51 banked more pips, has a better profit factor and lower draw down. Both EAs run at default with the same lot size, with same start/stop of 0-23 hrs.

ChicagoRob replied Jul 10, 2019The EA is more robust with eurusd than gbpusd. Eurusd made money in 2017, but gbpusd ended at a loss. 2018 was a good year for both pairs.

ChicagoRob replied Jul 10, 2019Bingo! When I downloaded the indy, it was automatically placed in a MT4 platform I no longer use. I extracted the indy from Market, which, obviously didn't work. I went back to the platform and copied the Market folder and pasted it into the indy ...

ChicagoRob replied Jul 10, 2019Same problem with the new version: indicator won't open. I can manually put it on the chart in the tester and watch the arrows, but the file still can't be opened by the EA. BTW, per the attached screen grab, why is Market shown as part of the ...

ChicagoRob replied Jul 9, 2019Help me out, here. I have the EA in the correct folder and I have the Sextet indy in the correct folder. However, the EA will not run in my tester, as shown in the journal report, which states the indy cannot be opened. What is the problem?

ChicagoRob replied Jun 19, 2019Would it be possible to include a global TP setting? I had a situation last night with +$27 float, which turned into -$8 this morning. It would be nice to have a TP that would work on the entire basket.

ChicagoRob replied Jun 14, 2019Only tried defaults, but higher TFs perform better, albeit with far fewer trades. Best results were on D1, but only 13 trades in 18 months. Could probably add more pairs for increased profits.
