Magic Trader replied Jan 23, 2011Yep, Goose is right. The Chinese are buying more and more gold. If their economy starts slowing down, then maybe we'll see indications of a bubble. But then maybe they'll just buy more ?!
Order Flow - Finding cluster of stops on chart

Magic Trader replied Jan 21, 2011Good post. DS said we should start looking in this direction after figuring out stops -- which he was kind enough to help us with. So the question is, when does liquidity drop and volatility jump? (Or: Does liquidity have to drop in order for ...

Magic Trader replied Jan 21, 2011Just my opinion that VSA is worthless -- or in the very least, not needed. You're searching in the wrong direction.

Magic Trader replied Jan 20, 2011I just get a little clearer view of price using the WMA. I've tried EMA and SMA and it's not quite the same. In the end, it really doesn't matter what you use. Just put in the screentime to get familiar with PA around your chosen MA.

Magic Trader replied Jan 19, 2011I agree. What DS has shared already should be enough to get everyone started in the direction that will help their trading. If it hasn't, maybe they weren't meant to have this information? Darkstar, if you continue refining your book to the point ...

Magic Trader replied Jan 19, 2011I'm the same way. I use a 1min chart with a 60wma and watch how PA interacts with the line. If you get enough screentime, you have a good idea which way price is headed.

Magic Trader replied Jan 17, 2011Awesome to have Darkstar in here. I read everything he posts and hope he continues to visit here from time to time. BTW, how's the book coming? Price change acts to soak up liquidity and when it does that, it'll go in search of the next big area of ...
Order Flow - Finding cluster of stops on chart
-
Magic Trader replied Jan 16, 2011Well, when you have clusters of candles together, you have liquidity being dried up. Especially if the orders coming in are market orders, which I think they tend to be. I may be wrong, but I believe most limit and stop orders come in outside of ...

Magic Trader replied Jan 14, 2011Let's learn together. This thread is dedicated to MMA trading. But if we find any order flow stuff we can add to our charts, then all the better.

Magic Trader replied Jan 14, 2011That's a good question, Rising. From an order flow standpoint, I'm just beginning my learning. Oftentimes, when price hits a group of stops, it'll run them, and then pause and turn back around (profit taking). Sometimes, after running the stops ...

Magic Trader replied Jan 13, 2011Great job, Rising. Trade what you see and not what you think you see. I have nothing to add on my end. In my own experience, every time I have gotten burnt in the past was because I tried to fade a huge run in the market. Lesson learned! You are ...

Magic Trader replied Jan 11, 2011The goal is 1:1 rr with 70% + win rate. So set your leverage accordingly. Actually, the goal is to boost the win rate over 80% but I think that will come with time and learning to read PA around the MA with even greater skill.
