ChicagoRob replied Aug 30, 2011This looks very interesting. I'd really like to try this out on higher time frames. Take profit and stop loss would need some trial and error adjustments, though. Rob
MA Cross/Fractal Combo

ChicagoRob replied Aug 6, 2011I really like being able to use this on longer TFs, such as H4 and D1. Gives me plenty of time set up my trades. Looking forward to some nice pips. Thanks for contributing. Rob

ChicagoRob replied Aug 6, 2011Shouldn't these be stop orders, as opposed to limit orders?

ChicagoRob replied Jul 10, 2011Range restriction — Looks good on a chart with nice, clean moves and retracements. Wonder what would happen with lots of chop in a range-bound situation. Rob

ChicagoRob replied Jun 19, 2011Good news, Steve. The Kevinator system is solid - looking forward to it. Rob

ChicagoRob replied Dec 22, 2010Thanks, EC, for your contribution. As a long time grid trader with Blessing, this caught my eye. Can you post a couple of set files you feel are good starting points? Here's to a profitable 2011. Rob
SWB Super Trend

ChicagoRob replied Nov 13, 2010My experience, exactly. Both of my live accounts use non-FIFO compliant EAs and they trade perfectly with IBFX. Rob

ChicagoRob replied Nov 12, 2010I'd like to see the test run again with DD not exceeding 30%. Rob
SWB Martingale EA

ChicagoRob replied Nov 12, 2010See my PM. There are many versions of Blessing that are LIFO. Just because the latest version is FIFO compliant doesn't mean you have to use it. Rob
SWB Stealth (Martingale)

ChicagoRob replied Nov 12, 2010You're better off trading Blessing, which is a grid trader and has adjustable equity protection settings. I've been live for over two years and haven't had one EP hit. It will also survive a three-year backtest without any problems. Rob

ChicagoRob replied Oct 30, 2010Have to agree with your approach. An ideal situation would be price bouncing back and forth within a channel. Kind of like controlled chop, without the trending. Of course, how long the pair stays within the channel is anyone's guess. Rob

ChicagoRob replied Oct 30, 2010Excellent results. How many pairs? Primaries and secondaries, or only primaries?

ChicagoRob replied Oct 26, 2010I just didn't think it performed as well as some of the other pairs in my demo. I also don't trade eurchf, along with some of the big-spread pairs. Rob

ChicagoRob replied Oct 26, 2010Big gains — Anyone else have amazing performance in the last day or so? My 15-pair demo and two 8-pair demos all pulled down monster profits and are currently flat, which is the way I like to do business. I'm currently running TB on a demo ...

ChicagoRob replied Oct 24, 2010Thanks for the explanation, Steve. Everything is clear as a bell. I've been through so many EAs that required some form of compensation, in order to function properly. Given your background and reputation, I should have realized that all systems ...

ChicagoRob replied Oct 24, 2010Question about The Beast — Steve, Forgive me if this has already been covered. My question relates to the ReEntryLinePips input. My understanding is that the number is automatically calculated when the default is 0. On my 4-digit demos, the ...

ChicagoRob replied Oct 23, 2010Yeah, the tester really chews up resources. I'm running a P4 3.6, top-of-the-line Seagate drives, 4-gigs of RAM, etc., and backtesting still manages to consume over 50% of my CPU. Fact of the matter is that current-day $500 laptops will smoke my ...

ChicagoRob replied Oct 23, 2010My experience, exactly. A lot depends on start time and which years are within the test period. I did run into trouble with some of my backtests, but have decided to forward test, anyway. The one thing that backtests can't do is deliver results for ...

ChicagoRob replied Oct 23, 2010Point taken, but this is just a stepping stone for me. The overall mix is quite varied, and I will continue to monitor their performance. I just felt like identifying the strongest pairs during the first eight days. As mentioned in my post, eight of ...
