Spudfyre replied May 30, 2007The 80/20 Rule — The 80/20 Rule If we are going to learn anything about stochastics, it should be the 80/20 rule. This rule covers initiating any Forex trade when stochastics are between the 20 percent and 80 percent levels. There is a ...

Spudfyre replied May 30, 2007Escalator to Pips — Escalator to Pips Escalator to Pips is an extension of the momentum strategy. The entry requires a little more agreement of the stochastics over multiple time frames and the result is a progression of fairly confident ...

Spudfyre replied May 30, 2007Well said. It is a pain to flip time frames or have multiple charts but it is the only way to view stochastics effectively. Trying to display mutliple time frames on one chart is like trying to watch 3 movies at the same time...you can do it, but ...

Spudfyre replied May 29, 2007It isn't the "elastic" part we have to worry about, it is where they converge that matters. Elasticity is predictive to a price move..when the stochs converge there is a price move. During the elasticity either the 5,3,3 will move to the 14,3,3, the ...

Spudfyre replied May 29, 2007In any 80/20 trade I want the 4H leading the way and being the first indicator of direction for the 1H and 30M to follow. So in this case with the 4H moving opposite to the 1H and 30M I wouldn't go short....at least not until the 4H is going short ...

Spudfyre replied May 29, 2007Trade Exit — I exited my GU trade late last night at about 6:45 GMT. Although the 4H 14,3,3 stochastic had not crossed the 23.6 line, the 1H and 30M were indicating long and the 4H looked to be climbing. Best to let go of 13 pips than risk ...

Spudfyre replied May 28, 2007Trade Update — Trading has been a slow day with the holidays. I'm still in my short GU trade as the 4H 14,3,3 stochastic has remained below 23.6. The 4H Ma's are riding along the 0 line. So this trade keeps on going. Have seen some price ...

Spudfyre replied May 28, 2007Trade Update — 7 Hours have passed on my GU trade and nothing spectacular is happening. The 4H still favours the trade so holding. The 1H has x23.6 stochastic for a 1H exit at -9 pips, I am sticking to 4H exit. The 1H and 30M stochastics look ...

Spudfyre replied May 27, 2007I typically don't trade the short on an exit by the 1H 14,3,3. I prefer to have the 4H 14,3,3 signal the beginning and enter when the 1H and 30M line up with the 4H. It's more successful that way.

Spudfyre replied May 27, 2007March 21, 2007 Entry — Here's my take on the MArch 21st entry for a long break out. The moving averages above 100 Fib level is a good sign for an entry. The price closed above 100 Fib level The stochastics on 30M, 1H and 4H are all above 76.4 ...

Spudfyre replied May 27, 2007Trade Comment — I assuming you were looking for a short entry here too? Again this would have been a long entry where price crossed the and closed above 100 and all stochs on all 3 time frames are crossing or above 76.4.

Spudfyre replied May 26, 2007To read a trend with stochastics, I use the following method.... 4H, 1H, 30M and 15M chart Say the 4H stochastic is around 38.2 and headed up If the 15M moves from the 20 level (23.6) to above 80 and falls again to 20 and the 4H still rises then we ...
