smilee89 replied Dec 30, 2010Unbelievable. This backtest was made on a CRB chart. I would like to ask you to add TP and SL parameters and not fixed 15 pips.

smilee89 replied Dec 30, 2010In each new Open bar. The code has to check: If Current Price < Open Price at X pips (X= parameter 1), place pending Buy Stop order at open price + spread If Current Price > Open at X pips (X= parameter 1), place pending Sell Stop order at open ...

smilee89 replied Dec 27, 2010I also see positive results manually but with 1 difference. The TP is fixed and not taken by the Close of the bar. I don't have any XLS file or picture. sorry.

smilee89 replied Dec 25, 2010Well, if you enter a trade in a bar which drops between -18 to -25 pips then your TP is not strict and your R:R is going to be unstable.

smilee89 replied Dec 25, 2010What if price dropped 22 pips. You won't trade this bar? I would not trade only bars that retrace exact pips. edit: I mean to gain profit in pips even if price reached the TP at the next bar(s) and not only at the same bar.

smilee89 replied Dec 25, 2010I am almost sure that it will be easier to test this (great) system, if you determine both SL and TP in fix pips or ratio.

smilee89 replied Dec 25, 2010you can calculate the R:R only if you limit the maximum that the price can go away from Open, before you place the pending orders, which I am not sure it is good idea.

smilee89 replied Dec 25, 2010If the TP is the Close of bar you will never be able to calculate the R:R. TP has to be known in pips or regarding the SL size but not just a "Close of bar". Close of bar may be sometimes near the Open of that bar, while the price before that Close, ...

smilee89 replied Dec 25, 2010I don't understand why it would have been a loss. Once the bar went up 20 pips from the open, triggering us to place a Sell Stop order at the open, then went down 40 pips - You win the Short trade. Now. There are 2 options: 1. When Sell stop hit - ...

smilee89 replied Dec 25, 2010Right. The same for the other side. Price dropped down and did not retrace back to Open price. As long as you did not enter a loosing trade (not to mention entered wrongly) - it's ok. Not every range bar is a trade bar. This bar is not a trade bar.

smilee89 replied Dec 25, 2010Why do you think there should be a trade on that range bar? At this very range bar price opened at 1.5457, went op for 2-3 pips and then dropped down. There isn't any way I can see a price movement to trade the Short or the Long. There is no trade ...

smilee89 replied Dec 24, 2010To make it clear: When bar is opened, you wait to see if it goes 10 pips above its Open price or below it. If it goes 10 pips up, you place a sell stop order at the Open price for 20 pips Take Profit. If it goes 10 pips down, you place a buy stop ...

smilee89 replied Dec 24, 2010I am confused, though I read your rules more than twice. Please upload a chart picture showing the "current bar", "Open" (of which bar?), how should look the "previous bar" regarding the current bar.

smilee89 replied Dec 24, 2010Let's say current bar reached lower than previous bar. As long as you don't know whether the next bar is going up or down, how do you know to go Long or Short when the current bar is closed?
