phewwwwwwwwww, I just scraped through I think....... I cant see that traders would place their stop on all positions at the same place as the first trade. suppose you scale in @ 1.3000 - 1.3500 - 1.4100 - 1.4450 I would not want to lose all those ...
How to Pyramid Entries to Increase Initial Risk/Reward 10-fold

to add a trade because your last trade is in profit is silly. an EA would never differentiate between trends and ranges, retraces and continuation like a trader would, so the results of an EA would be useless to me. I trade only when I see a strong ...

who cares what you call the trades: point is that in a well established trend it is very smart to open a new position after each meaningful retrace and the trend resuming. with the older positions at least @ BE under the last swing, you have only 1 ...

hi guys, the best ever system I read about trading without a stop loss is on Oanda. this guy made 20% per month for many months. I gave a short outline of this system in the Trading Journal section in the Cinderella threat.
Trading Without a StopLoss

whatfx, your idea will be interesting if there are too many 4-entry losses. in my testing: TP 50 pips........generally the entries were 30 pips apart on average, so on a 2-entry trade I made 50 pips on the 2nd entry and 20 pips on the 1st entry. in ...

hi holy pips, I got to be careful here. these are just figures for H1 TF on A/U and I have no figures for other TF`s of A/U, let alone for the other pairs smilee is trading. a loss with 4 entries is quite large, in my case 680 pips on average. ...

smilee, could you have a look at post 138........thanks re post 137: 50 pips TP is more profitable than 30 pips TP for A/U 1H TF. 50TP: profit 2013 year to June 3rd = 1,681 pips with only 1 loss. back testing done manually = headache

whatfx, SL for all 4 positions is the same, see post 1. if you close out the last entry when the next entry is entered, you completely change the system. you will have a large number of smaller losses and if the profits will make up for that is ...

smilee, on 1H TF I have my SL 50 pips above/below 400sma. 60sma entry hit and I place my SL 50 pips above 400sma @ 1.0460 (400sma = 1.0410 + 50 pips). after that it takes a few days to get to 400sma and when price hits the 400sma the value of this ...

smilee, went over your posts again and I don't understand this comment. I thought we were not aiming for a big profit after 4 entries, but just to recover the losses from the first 2-3 entries + a little profit?

no, that is the beauty of it. he went through a 2,000 pip wobble in July 2007 and at its worst he was down 30% in DD, but recovered completely. in November 2007 he felt the change in the wind and went long yen. anyway, good luck with your journal.
