I hope I don't miss the down move again, but I'm going to wait until next week to short. I'd hate to buy in short and then have it gap up on me while the markets are closed. Assuming we are still up in this range, anyone have a good price point to ...

Yeah, me too. I'd like to be selling again right now, but going into a weekend with a possible gap up? Not appealing. I'll wait until next week to start selling.

Well, get ready to see this mofo moving pretty fast soon, once those retail numbers come out. If they are good, this move up isn't finished.

A funny thing happened in the USA. The President and the Senate Majority leader ranted and raved for days on end of nuclear economic destruction if we didn't raise the debt ceiling. So tonight, the debt ceiling was raised, just in time, and now all ...

True, what you said was If the main mover is the Euro, we'd expect to see this in the Euro only. Instead, we're seeing it in other majors as well. I think it has more to do with the Chinese downgrade of us sovereign debt.

If it has nothing to do with USD, then why are other pairs like GBPUSD and USDCHF doing the same thing in a negative direction for USD? Also, the only thing your chart shows is that this month is a continuation of last months upward candle. It ...

So if it keeps going up, then what's the explanation? Suppose the news is good and it continues to spike upward?

I just looked at the previous months candles. But they aren't helping me understand. Perhaps you're able to explain.

If the numbers coming out in about an hour are good, we'll head up. But will we head up over resistance?

I think lower also. Senate is currently voting to reopen the government. Assuming that passes, we should see a big move in the cable. I'm watching it live at the moment. Should be finished soon.

I couldn't agree with you more. I wasn't trying to make a point about the value of the US Dollar and whether it will be stronger or weaker, so much as I was responding to your message about debt to GDP ratio.

You're right, I absolutely cannot see the USofA handing over any land to China to make up for some default on bonds. However, China needs both Oil and Coal, which the USofA has in abundance. And if you remember, China doesn't own the 17 trillion in ...

It doesn't really matter how governments express their national debt though, does it? If you trust how a government expresses something, you're naive, at best. On the other hand, most of us express our debt as a portion of our income, combined with ...

Pardon the newbie question, but.... If England is doing well, then the pair GBPUSD will move up and if USA is doing better economically, then GBPUSD will move down, yes? Obviously it's not as clear cut as that, but generally speaking.
