Heh, glad to hear it. Don't get me wrong, I can't stress how important charting and technicals are, just saying that I think keeping fundamentals in check gives you the complete package.

Definitely trust your technicals, but I think you will be a dramatically better trader if your trade bias is fundamental while your execution is technical. It definitely allows you to be most dynamic and adaptable to what is going on in the market. ...

Hi hendrix, I occasionally use a trailing SL, it's definitely a tool to consider depending on the trade. It's great for keeping you in the beginning of a trade (say the first 100 pips or first 2-3 hours), because price has a tendency to move fast in ...

Eastern Daylight Time is the time-zone. I should mention the opening hour is very volatile too. We're seeing nearly day after day dramatic opens (-500 point openers) and closes (DJI opens up 300, down 300 midday, and up 172 to finish). As for why ...

When I trade the UJ at night (again, I try to follow the markets during the US session but I work full-time, so I'm usually only able to get maybe 1-2 trades during the during the week at best), I don't have access to a Nikkei chart, and literally ...

Barak, The only news I follow is what I read on bloomberg.com, and what I get through the free Reuters feed on Oanda FX. I don't really think you need much more than this. As for what to listen to, it's probably best to keep things simple. A lot of ...

Hi Inzider, Here's a link to one of BRV's posts on fundamentals: url But to give you a brief example (and I'm sure BRV or other members can expand on this), last night at about 7:30PM EST I opened up my charts on the USDJPY and EURUSD (for the ...

BRV, I'm very surprised I missed that 1.3000 trade. Luckily I got in on a break of shorter support I drew up and still copped about 110 pips, but in hindsight it looks like there were hundreds more available. Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay ...

Wanted to get in at the break of 1.2882 on the downside, but didn't get my entry confirmation after double checking everything else going on until 1.2867, set my initial stop at 1.2905, target is 1.2750. Basically the Nikkei is getting killed, and I ...

Hey Barak, I hope BRV doesn't mind me answering these since they were addressed to him, but in the interest of helping the thread and keeping questions not related to action to a limit, I'll answer. From reading the thread and his blog, he's ...

How hypocritical of myself. I closed that USDJPY short when it was in consolidation on a 5m chart instead of just adjusting my stop outside the range, and it ended up breaking south and is 40+ in the green right now, even if it's still stalling a ...

I just wrote up a long post discussing the USDJPY and had to delete it as it just broke our lower support of 96.86. I shorted the break at 96.79 (a late entry, but luckily it's moving fast and I just got in at a reasonable price still). Target is ...

It looks like you're trading right back into another bucket on the downside. Check the 30m chart around 1.6136. That's just at a quick glance though and still allowed for a 70 pip gain if you closed out there. I think there's more room to the ...

Equities are rebounding from recent losses, USDJPY is in a range and slowly responding. I expect after all the recent action that it will trade within a range for the next few days as equities trade within their respective ranges. I'm at work so I ...

Hey hendrix, A few weeks ago I was having trouble with this issue. Let me preface this by saying that I don't strictly fade S&R, I often trade breakouts (especially during days like this when there's a lot of volatility-- for example the past weeks ...

Hi Alex, My take on this trade is that you must look at the two main issues here, technicals & fundamentals. Technically speaking, it's been my (relatively little) experience that buckets are best for playing the counter-trend bounce, meaning that ...
