jthomas, i didn't realize you were fairly new at forex. Congratulations. IMHO, you picked a very good system to start with.

Sorry to hear that, whitegoodman. I got stung on the EUR/USD in December.Haven't traded live since until I get a better handle on the best entries and exits.

This is the response you'll get when you send him an email. Forex factory, I suspect, will be closing this thread shortly. I knew a rat when I smelled it. In any event, the "system' is most likeley simply SELLING at the high of the week, and BUYING ...

From the limited information you've given so far (and I don't know why you've chosen to make a thread to tease the crowd), this is a system that buys and/or sells at extremes from a moving average. This is a superb system, and one which a guy named ...

Here's a chart of what the AUD/CAD can do to you. I had a 45X30 EA on it with 5 levels and a stop at 250, PLUS the entry wasn't until it was 80 PIPS from center. I still got stopped out. This is the second or third time for this pair that I got ...

"2 trades it starts at .01 and moves 140 pips = 1.40 loss at this point say we go .08 for movement 20 pips = 1.60-1.40=.20 not bad considering the other multiplier is 1.28 you would have many steps to go and only need 20 RR .08 is a smaller ...

I've been trying this EA also, and had it set for LONG on the EUR/USD and had trades opened. Then, the trend changed. The question is at what point do you close out these losing trades? Do you hold them & hope the trend will change back the next ...

So I understand, you're saying to have the EA not open any new trades until the bar closes? Or, no new trades until it goes up by X pips?

Seems to still be in the 35/65 range and bouncing off. I made another 22 pips on the bounce off the line. Now, going back down to the line again. If it goes under, and then starts to reverse, I'll try another trade.

Chicago, You know what the firebird EA is. Just started trying it, but not that impressed, so will probably can it. Basically, it relies on pullbacks for entry. The EA I mentioned created by Nanningbob is very similar, and his first EA would buy and ...

USD/CAD does well using a 30X20 EA with it set to take trades at 120 away from center. May be a little high for this pair, but I think it's safer getting in at higher levels.

Not sure what you did. Possibly didn't load the MQ4 file in your experts folder? This is the one posted on September 28. I made that mistake, too, and the EA didn't even appear on my experts folder until I loaded the MQ4 file.

Yeah, I have too may charts open, and the firebird runs off a 5 minute also. I just discovered the firebird & trying out different methods with it. The channels are of a different system, where I use an EA invented by a guy named nanningbob to only ...

Not sure if it's luck, but seems that lately the EU stays in about a 35/65 channel, and when it hits either line it bounces off. A demo trade I made was down over 20 pips at one time, but within about an hour, it went back up at the red line.

Bob, on that 60X90, my spreadsheet shows you lose money if it goes 4 levels, depending on how much of an increase in lot size you use. You'd have to use 2.0 times to just about break even. On the other hand, that does give you a lot of pips to work ...

nanningbob, or anyone....is there an indicator, or a way to include in this EA an alert when the pair reaches a certain amount of pips from center. I would like such a thing so I could determine whether or not to activate the EA. My thoughts are to ...
