Your profiting from a trend is very very dependent on your entry point these days. If you don't know where to get in, trend following advice is as useless as the advice of buying low and selling high.

Entry points don't matter, it's all about risk reward. I have a trader friend, was going through his statement this week. The guy was only right 21%, about 3/14 trades right . He risks 3.5% per trade and still ended the week +6%.

No system can be 100% efficient. All the scientist know that. The fact that the market is very close to efficiency doesn't mean it is efficient. But it is very hard to beat thou and requires an enormous amount of discipline.
