I've answered this in your email but to answer for everyone else no it wasn't a valid signal because the move away from the ma was not substantial enough. I want to see a good move away and then a clear pullback day or days that do not breach the 10 ...

An admirable analysis. I don't think it's necessary to think about these factors though. It's enough that the system would have kept you away from trading it. No need to overcomplicate anything.

Right. That's barely green though is it? I didn't trade that and I'm not sure if anyone else would have interpreted that as a signal. If they have then I haven't explained the system properly. You need a bit more of a move and then a clear pullback, ...

Er, no. There is no valid signal there. You've got a red candle going down and then todays candle is a large green one. If todays candle hadn't have pulled back above the 10 ema then you might have wanted to trade the break of todays candle but ...

I was doing some back testing on eurusd and unfortunately the ea I was using closed all my eurusd orders. Not to worry, I just banked the best part of 1500 pips

The buffer input doesn't matter now as you are using the ATR. The swing high was in place after the red candle closed so that's when I entered the pending order. Our charts may look a little different depending on what broker you are using.

It's tricky but one way I have used in the past is to add levels to my ma. So if the average atr is around 80 just add an 80 level above and below the ma on the chart and if it touches that then you know the stop loss would have been hit. It's not ...

All right except the first two should be true. The first one tells it to trail behind the ma and the second one tells it to close if the price closes the wrong side of the ma.

Yep, yen pairs are a bit spiky which is why they are not recommended. Saying that I believe one of my eurusd trades came within a few pips of being stopped at the start. My total portfolio is over 1200 pips up at the moment. It could turn round ...

Hello. The entry signal is to wait for a move one way or the other away from the moving average. Once you get a pullback day you place a pending order the other side of it. If the 10 ema is breached before the order is hit then you close the order. ...

Not bad for less than 2 months but I want to stress that you should never look at the highest equity. The nature of the system is that it will give some profit back when the trend finally does reverse.

I add on to some pairs when the 55 is broken but only after it has been flat for a certain period. The ea trails behind the 20 donch channel by a certain amount for each pair. Sometimes this lags a little, it should move the stops up on Sunday night. ...

Another sp500 add on, let's see if it survives this time.

I am using 1 times the ATR(20). For eurusd this is around 80 at the moment so my stop losses are 80 pips behind the 10 ema.

Not sure what was happening at the time that was posted but here's the current trade. A convincing close above the ma followed by a couple of pullback days. Trade triggered on the break of the swing high.

Not yet, I want to see a move down and then a pullback. Once the pullback takes place I can put a pending order below the swing low.

Hi, I haven't used it on stocks so you would have to test it. In general it works best on pairs that tend to trend smoothly such as eurusd and audusd. If there is a stock that behaves in a similar fashion then it should work fine. If you do try it ...

Yes I know. It did look like it might turn round as euraud did quite nicely. I have now removed the pending order. This is the good thing about the system though, no harm done by leaving the pending order there. If it had shot up the page I would ...
