FYI - bearish put volume has increased significantly again. Not as much as before however. I am waiting for a bigger retracement. Back to being risk averse for a while :-)

Haha - Jupiter I don’t disagree with you. Buying dips in an uptrend vs buying dips in a downtrend is very different however. Yes we all need to be adaptable to the market.

Well, the Nikkei did rise over time so he wasn’t necessarily wrong with his long term conviction. Equities will only expand. It was more a lesson of pissing against the tide, not managing risk and him being married to the trade. Glad to have you ...

The poor guy bought all the way down in a downtrend. A different story to the current direction of the Dow... That said I think you can play both sides of the Dax and Dow right now. Much volatility and not a lot of room at the top without a big ...

There are successful traders that don’t look at charts, there are successful traders that only look at charts. Ultimately the Dow has one direction: up. So if you choose to buy the dips you can still be very successful with the right risk ...

Oh wow. Just read China pumped $120bn USD into the markets early this morning. Sitting on the sidelines for now. Doesn’t make sense to play until the next big drop.

Mmm - not strictly true. Asia opened and started to slide quite heavily, then in a blink of an eye the Chinese indexes were up 1.5% (liquidity injection perhaps). At last week’s close, the Dow slid 2% from its high off bs news and concerns raised by ...

Closed out my long from 29.2k for a loss of 100 pips. Annoying but certainly not major. Precautionary in case there’s a big slide tomorrow when London opens. Edit: market is now creeping up. Shows the determination of the Chinese not to let this ...

I am sure Delta is just taking a break for a few days. The Dow is only down a few points in the weekend chart. This would suggest that a big drop isn’t imminent. WHO have released some positive statements and China are apparently committing to ...

Flu isn’t bringing part of the Chinese economy to a stand still, though. Weekend Dow price is hovering near 29k. That’s where it broke out from and it will be bearish again below.

A US citizen has died from the virus contracted in Wuhan. For fuck sake. Wouldn’t be surprised if we retest lows again. Edit: WHO said cases are stabilising, then finished by saying they could still advance. Choppy markets ahead??

VIX & VXD, they’re charts that contain real time options and can be used as a volatility gauge. There’s a misconception that you cannot apply momentum or time volatility, but you can.

Move SL to BE given NFP risks. Think jobs report is coming in lower which may have contributed to the drop in the London session. Also opened another position so I’m now x2 lol

Long again 29.2k According to the vol charts there could be some further downside. Given it’s already over 1% down from its high, it’s worth a buy and keeping some in reserve if it goes lower.

Absolutely, think I mentioned in my post yesterday. Most bulls will want to close out their positions and be flat over the weekend to avoid risk, especially after we’ve set a new high (there’s always a degree of retracement following). Next levels ...

Took another small profit. Market isn’t really taking off today and I expect some more profit taking could happen tomorrow, don’t want to hold any risk. Vix is suggesting that we will see some more volatility soon.
