Buy oil future, hedge with USD/CAD long?

SL, I'm not sure where you're getting the strong JPY being equated with a strong economy... It's quite the opposite in fact, with a stronger JPY most likely being a drag on the economy (that was my whole reason for this thread). The only reason she ...
Is Japan headed towards recession?

Goldman Sachs Chief Japan Strategist says Japan is already in a recession and forecasts a dismal 2008 fiscal year (assumes USD/JPY @ 95.00 in her analysis as a "conservative" estimate - lower meaning worse for Japan). url Is it just me or does she ...

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but are you saying that you can't risk 2% of your account on higher timeframes? If that's the case, then it's probably because your broker doesn't offer flexible lot sizes, so change to another broker that ...

OK here is an explanation I received via PM from a non 1KT member, which I thought was very much worthy of posting:

Your MM shouldn't really be related to the timeframe you trade. Can you explain how your MM affects the timeframe you trade? Also, if your MM really doesn't allow it, then maybe it's time to adjust your MM rather than forcing yourself to trade low ...

I am not a big fan of trailing stops, especially not in a rigid fashion such as yours. If you are planning to trade this way on multiple pairs, then you should at least take into account each pair's volatility before setting such rigid sl and tp ...

Your math is essentially correct, but you are using the wrong number... 0.77T was the expected value for this month's data. The previous one was 0.86T so: 0.86*30% = 0.26 0.86 - 0.26 = 0.60 So we have a 30% drop versus a 10% drop (0.86 to 0.77 as ...

WHOA that Japanese trade balance number came out way below expectations (0.60T vs. 0.77T expected and 0.86T previous)... That's a 30% drop instead of a forecast 10% drop. Big difference if you ask me, and I wouldn't attribute it to the strong JPY ...

Banks have been known to be wrong from time to time... Anyway, is this the bottom? I don't think so, but it is possible. We will have to hear some good news from housing and/or the financial ...Wall Street close watch

My suggestions are: 1. Look at longer timeframes to orient yourself to where you are in the bigger picture 2. Lose some of those MAs 3. Try to incorporate fundamental analysis

Bounce off a very important fib level and then a trendline breach. This was most likely a purely technical move in relatively low Asian liquidity.

Did Bernanke say that as long as Americans buy things that are priced in US dollars (like good little boys and girls), then dollar weakness doesn't matter??????? Taken within context, that is probably the dumbest thing anyone has ever said. This man ...

OK so our correction is sitting at 1.5350, right on top of a very important Fib level (38.2% retracement of the move from 1.4440 to 1.5900). Volume is likely to be low today due to Easter Monday, so I would not consider any moves, or lack of moves, ...

drummer, I understand what you're saying, but I strongly doubt you will find a broker who will give you any kind of benefits on account balance that would exceed your losses in equity as a result of "hedging". Like I was saying in my previous post, ...
