If you know history, you also know stop loss won't always save you.
I actually traded successfully without stop loss. And when I first started using it, I lost a lot of money and a lot of self-belief. I am better at setting SL now, but I still ...Cable Update (GBPUSD)

Hi Akim, first of all, thank you for this thread and for the knowledge you share. I learned (or I hope I learned) a lot from your posts. I have a question for you. How you decide when to take profit? Or, if you take profit on part of a position and ...

Agree on a trade war; unfortunately for me, as I am in the UK, and we will lose massively (maybe EU will, as well, but this gives me no comfort whatsoever). But don't expect this trade war to end quickly just because of economic difficulties. For ...

Mistake. It hit my SL and continued lower, and it is difficult to find a good level to enter now. So even though I am with a decent profit, I feel like I lost a lot. I have to think hard about a lesson for myself here. My analysis was spot on, ...

You really think that EU would forfeit access to its Single Market for the sake of fisheries? No access to British waters is a short-term problem, and given the size of this economy sector, won't cost that much even if all fishermen in Europe become ...

I agree that market does not react to Brexit news in the same way as before, actually I had a post on this just yesterday. url The issue is, the market sort of stopped reacting to _any_ negative news about UK. My guess is, it will suddenly ...

It is a common misconception that EU folded last time. In fact, it was the UK that folded not once, but three times when presented with no deal prospect. UK probably wouldn't fold this time, but EU won't either.

I remember in February, G/U opened with a gap from 1.32 to 1.318 on Brexit news, and then dropped to 1.3 in a day and to 1.285 within a week. It closed the gap a month and a half after that, just before the big fall from 1.32 to 1.14.

Moved SL to 20 pips profit. 1.32 held strong so far, and bulls may try to mount a counterattack to 1.325. I still expect 1.32 to be broken today.

The issue is the spread; before the market opens, a broker may easily have a 20 pip spread (and more for some brokers), say 1.3250/1.3270. So your TP was triggered, however it could not be filled at your TP price 1.3254 due to low liquidity. So it ...

Sold G/U at 1.32563, SL and TP open for now. It may well fill the gap, but I don't really care. I feel the risk/return ratio is good here, GBP is unlikely to gain much today, not with all the Brexit news stacked up like this over the weekend. A ...

In the last few months, the market were not moved by the news on this front. Not only GBP/USD was moving upwards (this should be explained by a weak dollar), other GBP pairs were not affected. There may be a number of explanations: 1) market does ...

Sold at 1.33085 with 5 pips stop. Trend is down, and GBP was going up, seemingly not paying attention to dismal construction PMI figures. This tells me the move up was a fake, usual for Fridays. We can either fake more (I saw 100 pip fakes before US ...
