Kanzler replied Dec 15, 201317 posts, less than one month of activity, totally unknown and his demo trade explorers get him top 3%. That's messed up.

Kanzler replied Dec 15, 2013Independently, candles don't have a lot of value. In context, they can give you a good sign as to whether or not strong buying or selling is going on in a target zone though. It's more about the wicks and quick retreats than anything else.
why have you accepted the price-predictability assumption?

Kanzler replied Dec 15, 2013Ah I see. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth to me as pseudorandom numbers based on timestamps work quite well for almost all purposes, but taking a look at the wiki article on "truly" random numbers the way they do it makes enough sense.
why have you accepted the price-predictability assumption?

Kanzler replied Dec 15, 2013I'm not sure how you can ever have "truly" random numbers. An algorithm has to produce the numbers some way.

Kanzler replied Dec 15, 2013Somebody has to be making the money almost everybody else loses. Brokers take a share but overall they just don't cut it. How's that for evidence?

Kanzler replied Dec 15, 2013hahaha...hardcore failure. Fuck what the banks say, they're as reliable as Goldman Sachs directing you to buy stocks after a massive rally.

Kanzler replied Dec 14, 2013haha that gave me a good chuckle. Just from the technical standpoint it's looking good so far. Sunday open comes around and we could see something crazy happen which prompts a change in opinion. Always good to be flexible as long as it's part of the ...

Kanzler replied Dec 14, 2013Ok. Well, we'll see. I'm holding my daily position until I see some convincing reason to exit. I'm relatively confident because of the retail bear trap though...that was just way too easy of money to allow that opportunity to not be the top. Those ...

Kanzler replied Dec 14, 2013Thanks for your PM, although to be straightforward I try to avoid reading about other strategies as I try to keep focused on what I know works for me. I use Oanda but not their charting package; I use MT4 for that. And yes I've had problems of not ...

Kanzler replied Dec 14, 2013If you can get really low spreads or a commission based fee system I don't think it's nearly as bad, although I'd have to see what the fees actually are and how they impact earnings. I just know both FXCM and Oanda don't really offer anything that ...

Kanzler replied Dec 14, 2013It has little to do with personal experience and more to do with math. Let's do a controlled study to illustrate the concept. Since we cannot control for two independent variables, we must assume that the odds of "winning" a trade (reaching 1x risk) ...

Kanzler replied Dec 14, 2013The lower time frames are poison for most people. On a daily chart, the fee for entering the trade is negligible. On the 5 minute, it can be nearly 100% of your actual risk zone; so you're wasting half of your money just on the transaction fee. It's ...

Kanzler replied Dec 14, 2013It's much easier actually. They have at least two things going on in their favor: 1) Personal connections to other bigwhigs, which affords early insider information. Insider trading isn't illegal in currency markets. 2) Very large funds which can be ...

Kanzler replied Dec 14, 2013Some advice that was helpful to me that I might pass along (as an addition to your reply)...don't watch your trade all day long. You might miss getting out a few points early when your exit signal comes along but in the long run it's worth it not to ...

Kanzler replied Dec 13, 2013The masses believe in fibonacci. They also believe in big round numbers and major trendlines. The banks believe in them too, or at least that there are lots of retailers placing their orders at that price ripe for exploit. Traditional technical ...
