Call for Regulations regarding Liquidity Providers
- Princeton replied Jan 16, 2015
Since Forex is not regulated or an exchange, real market levels can be inferred from a composite of numerous LP's shown by Bloomberg (which may be CMPN or BGN) or EBS. From these levels, you may know if the price at which you got margin called or ...

Forexia, I am sorry. But I don't think you know how the market works. You were on the wrong side of the market at a time when volatility suddenly dried up. Full stop. The only thing you can ask for is taking a loss no greater than where the market ...

I guess we can all agree on the fact that Central Banks are authorized market manipulators. Now regarding clients getting affected by the CHF move, there are two kinds. The first is Forexia whining about the fact that this move caused a huge loss ...

I found Axitrader's price feed to be remarkably stable and handle the CHF mess very smoothly. This is a snapshot of EURCHF right after the news, see the low in the 1.01s when other brokers spiked it down to the 0.90s, 0.80s and even 0.70s, ...
Axitrader feedback, anyone?

I'm sure the guy is more worried about his job than our posts right now. That's for sure.

IC Markets is still in the process of adjusting wrongful client margin calls and reinstating accounts. Until further notice, nothing can be concluded about them.
Now we know who the market makers are...

The word was that higher spreads charged by FXCM were justified by bolstering their financial strength and providing additional funds safety - or not.

Frankly, I believe that the issue is not on the LP's side. If there is no market because of a major market dislocation, then they are not going to create a fake market out of thin air where they will take losses after losses. We all complained about ...

Still nothing here either since their email. No reply to my inquiry until now. I heard some other brokers (that did not go belly up) already straightened out the price spikes across all CHF pairs to actual prices and reinstated accounts to were they ...

I'm happy for you Clivethien. At least you can manage your risk. Here, still no resolution from IC Markets despite yesterday's email from them. For the record, spikes in EURCHF was down to 0.74549 with spreads reaching 2,400 pips yesterday. See ...

That was midpoint for Bloomberg, but by the time price touched its low, LP's came back in and mid was a good proxy for bid. BGN feed shows a bid low at 0.8472 for EURCHF and 0.7402 on USDCHF. Broker information was bid price.

Bloomberg shows the following lows: USDCHF = 0.7406 (BGN feed) EURCHF = 0.8517 (BGN feed) Another very reliable broker shows the following lows on their LIVE platform: USDCHF = 0.83956 EURCHF = 1.00469 So the truth has to be somewhere between both ...

Kevin. This is unfortunate but it is legit. Even if it's more likely during news releases, slippage can happen in any market. What is not legit however, is the absence of execution of our limits. Especially since limit orders in MT4 are technically ...
