You know, truth hurts. "Right regulations", "irresponsibility", "greed", these terms mean very different things to different people. Many people would consider use of leverage as "irresponsible" which needs "right regulations" to fix it & lower it ...
Call for Regulations regarding Liquidity Providers

I'm not sure but I think keeping a trade overnight requires one to bring in the full value of the stocks. Anyway, if you make a rule like that then there will be no liquidity providers, or at least nobody would want to call themselves a liquidity ...

Dukascopy have said on their website that they made it without a scratch because they'd reduced leverage for EURCHF to 1:10 You are probably right that some of the ECNs might be downplaying their losses. I think forex isn't the biggest part of IB's ...

A market-maker can fail at any time when their winning traders are winning more money than the money they are getting from losing traders while an ECN might fail on rare days like yesterday so that's the choice we have. May be a hybrid model would ...

That's right & wouldn't trading spot-forex on an exchange mean that we'd have to bring our own money in full, like stocks? That wouldn't really work well because most retail traders don't have 10s or 100s of thousands of dollars to trade forex ...

MMs are probably not the best option for scalers but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are safe for swing & long-tern traders either because as they are taking the other side of the trade, if a MM broker ends up with too many winning traders ...

Calm down, man!
Lets get one thing straight, you trade to make money for yourself, I trade to make money for myself, same for everyone else, INCLUDING the liquidity-providers. They do it because they wish to make money, just like the rest of us. ...Call for Regulations regarding Liquidity Providers

It's unfortunate but it could also mean that ECN brokers aren't as safe as most believe. Segregation of client-funds would be just as important I guess but then government regulators usually can't be trusted to do their job anyway. It's impressive ...
CHF move as a broker "Stress Test" - Which tried to honor SL's?
- r41225 commented Jan 16, 2015
Actually, trading is my dayjob, that's why I can easily see the obvious technical & fundamental cues & position myself accordingly, & don't go around blaming others. GREAT advice that all serious traders should take into consideration!

That's the thing, you know, it was just so obvious that any significant break of that level was going to cause a massive drop & yet so many people seem so shocked by something that was inevitable. As has been said, it wasn't something that one ...

People blaming banks, brokers & whatever.......but seriously, was it so difficult to see that EURCHF had been hovering around that 1.2 level & that the breach of that level is going to trigger a $hitload of SLs & there will be very few buyers ...

CHF strength is related to the fact that CHF will no longer be devalued alongside EUR. So there were probably not enough buyers to hold the fall until wherever the fall stopped (at least for now). It would probably have strengthened even more than ...

Fricking "unscheduled meeting"! That's why it wasn't on the FF calender. I haven't really been trading CHF anyway because it & EUR pairs moved simultaneously; as someone said, now CHF pairs might become independently tradeable. Nice day to check if ...
