thorn replied Sep 3, 2016Save yourself the time, there is no long term edge here. Read the whole thread. Many had early short term success then vanished after a few weeks. Do you notice there has been no long term posters claiming how wonderful this system is. No one last ...

thorn replied Sep 3, 2016See post #952. I think he comes here only to post results now. Keep in mind those settings are for AUD/USD. Stay away from G/J with a Bi-directional grid. It wont work well with its high daily range and 300-500 pip trends with no retraces. Stick ...

thorn replied Aug 30, 2016I am using a smaller grid size now. You are right about the MM. Had to go a bit more conservative to make the smaller grid work. 20-50 depending on pair. Small account (5k) and 50:1 leverage. Trade Multiple pairs(3-5)/small lot size, trade in one ...

thorn replied Aug 29, 2016If you want to stop and reverse, why would you use a martingale EA? Its 2 different strategies. There are other EA's out there that will do that for you. This is not one of them.

thorn replied Aug 19, 2016August to date results. Not as impressive as Gold but Im trading small and trying to control DD. I am not trading Piggy like you guys. Because I am in the U.S and my oppressive overlords say I can not buy and sell at the same time. So bi-directional ...

thorn replied Aug 19, 2016That is not how the EA works. Its not meant to recover stopped out losses. If you are using stop losses then you will never recover. It is designed to ride out down periods using the grid and your martingale multiplier settings. When the price turns ...

thorn replied Aug 19, 2016Thank you. Exactly my thoughts and you worded it perfectly. The EA is only a tool. No one throws an EA on a chart and comes back in a year to to collect their 100% gain. It just doesnt work that way. Those that think it does, will need to find ...

thorn replied Aug 18, 2016Small grid size = good profits/ large DD..Large grid size = slow profits/ smaller DD..There is no way around this basic issue. At least not one I have found.

thorn replied Aug 17, 2016Happens in demo also. Only seen this with many open orders and a quick price move. May just be the speed the EA closes trades. Price may be moving faster than the EA can close them?

thorn replied Aug 15, 2016This is not find a perfect entry EA. Its more of a grid/recovery EA. Any indicators are only good for the first entry any way. Adding more will only pollute the thread, cause Math aggravation and confuse the crap out of everyone else. Ill second the ...

thorn replied Aug 13, 2016From the testing I have done on this, I can give you a general overview of the setting. More profit and more risk: Small grid size (Under 50 pips), small time frame (less than H1), larger TP , larger multipler (1.7 or higher) Less profit and less ...

thorn replied Aug 8, 2016AUD/CHF, CAD/CHF, NZD/CAD, NZD/CHF also test pretty well with this EA. Like someone said earlier, the more range the better. Increasing the grid size and lowering the marti muliplier to 1.25-1.50 also helps reduce the drawdown. Reduces the profits a ...

thorn replied Aug 5, 2016Tested those settings in past and they worked well with a larger grid step (100). How was the drawdown with a small 20 pip grid? In backtest I always found such small steps will eventually kill the account once a drawn out trend happens.

thorn replied Jul 31, 2016Thanks Gold. Good luck to you also. A/U looks like a good choice. Slight up trend for the year, but enough retraces to keep you raking in the pips.
