True and funniest quote I've seen for a long time

FXCM is a true ECN broker?
- PipStar replied Feb 16, 2011
Those who are bashing him are most likely not real traders. Keep in mind everyone posts here anonymously including brokers, their reps, affiliates and anybody else who have a vested interest with brokers. I think that this class action could change ...

Class Action Lawsuit Against FXCM
- PipStar replied Feb 16, 2011
Now that it looks like FXDD is also being sued I would not be surprised if more forex brokers end up having to defend this class action since they all use the same tricks. As for FXDD there is no doubt that they started to go the same way as FXCM ...

Tha above points would sound familiar to anyone who has ever traded with FXCM. And it will be interesting to see how FXCM is going to defend all this. It all seem valid points.
Class Action Lawsuit Against FXCM

This is a question that I have been asking myself ever since Forex Factory has been heavily subsidised by brokers. Why do some posters show such loyalty to their brokers to the point of being anti-trader? The answer is in your quote above that many ...

The lawsuit against FXCM is not about all this and it's amazing how this thread quickly got side-tracked. Anyway, let's wait and see what happens when this goes to court and I really hope it does.
Class Action Lawsuit Against FXCM

Why are traders so passive? The only surprising thing is that it took so long for something like this to happen. Finally, someone has got the balls to stand up and fight against ripoffs and injustice against small traders in the forex industry. It ...

What is the maximum leverage for Ikon Viking and how much is required to open an account? You mentioned in another thread that fills are fast but how about slippage during market volatility?

Problem with forex.com is that they shut down during news and you get message 'Trade disabled' should you attempt to trade right on the news.
Very large oanda news spreads
- PipStar replied Feb 3, 2011
Incorrect. Oanda's spreads are a reflection of spreads at Oanda only. They are not a true reflection of spreads in the forex market because Oanda is a market maker who sets its own spreads. They intentionally widen spreads at news time to defeat ...

I expect many brokers to be fined after this investigation by NFA/CFTC. I don't believe the problem stops with Ikon and Gain Capital who were fined for unfair trade practice a few months ago. Looks like the regulators are very serious about cleaning ...

Thanks for the link but since it is subscriber only the whole article cannot be accessed. Interesting though that the NFA/CFTC are closing in on these unfair practices by retail brokers of which we are already fully aware.

I no longer use U.S brokers located in the USA mostly because of leverage issues but with Oanda metatrader I may be tempted.
Oanda goes Metatrader
- PipStar replied Jan 12, 2011
Once you start making money, they switch you to what they call their interbank feed. That adversely affects your profitability with slippage and bad fills.

Absolutely 100 per cent true. That's why choosing a true ECN or STP broker is important. Regarding FXCM, they are useless. They would have been better off saving their big advertising budget to give better fills to their clients instead. Enough said. ...

No one has ever forced you or anyone else to overleverage their account. You can open an account with a broker with 500-1 leverage and you may well want to open your positions at 10-1 leverage only. So your statement does not make much sense as you ...

Heard all this before about supposedly big news but most probably it will be a fizzer. As long as you have offices only in the USA with your 50-1 leverage and other CFTC restrictive rules, the rest of the world wont care.

Things have not changed and if they have it certainly is not for the better. I assume you are not trading during volatile times so that's the reason you dont get slippage, requotes etc. from any of these brokers. If you fire a market order none of ...
Have brokers improved their performance?
- PipStar replied Dec 20, 2010
You will have to try a few brokers at a time to see which one works. Just like your previous broker it will work for some time then the broker will make it harder for you. I dont think anyone can tell you the name of a broker where straddles will ...
