I live in New Brunswick so I can tell you that your on track. There hasn't been a new refinery built in Canada in 25 years and now they have 3 on the books. here's some info you might find helpful url

If your short on geppy no matter if your in the green or red you'll pay interest, If your long you'll get interest. most banks will pay you less interest than they charge you but i'm not sure if it applys to forex
