eur/gbp — Nice long setup on the new 4H, 07:00 CDT. I am probably 50/50 trading this pr but the TDI looks very good so I'm in. My gbp/usd still running.

Last night at 23:00 CDT, new D. time frame, I sold the gbp/usd @ 1.5527. It was the 3rd red candle but the 1st after a TDI cross; I don't recall if this was ever discuss in the rules and the cross is a little weak but the market seems to favor the ...

"The point of your arithmetic example was to suggest that 10 straight losses at 10% was not so bad." Wrong. Neither I nor the scalper ever suggested that 10 straight losses wasn't bad, he was showing that you can survive losses however bad they ...

He was just giving an arithmetic example and never had 10 straight losses. Geez.

Erebus — The reason I gave 10% as an example is because that is what the scalper usually bet. He always kept an eye on the news and if that favored his upcoming trade he bet more - 12, 15, on up to sometimes 30%. Not my cup of tea but there is ...

Many months ago I read a post on some forum by a scalper - he often but not always risked 30%, looking for the big $ on 4 or 5 pips. This is interesting: assume $1000 starting margin, risking 10% of available margin, and you have 10 straight losses. ...

Perhaps. Dean, I trade the 1H (preferred) or 15M during the NY session so I take what I can get. I reentered 3 hrs later selling the A/$ & gbp/$ and got +26 pips for a net of +11 for the morning. Like BigE I have not had success with the NY 4H at ...

I have shorted the E/$, G/$, & long the swissy. Regardless how these go I will pull out @ 07:00 cdt because of the news that will shortly follow. I hope we all do well this a.m. Just great - all 3 in mius territory and about 15-20 minutes before I ...

My bad, I said R/R because that is how I think of position size - my Risk part. I just equate position size with risk size (amount.) Sorry for the confusion. p

I know you didn't ask me but I use EarnForex.com's risk & also their pip value calculator. BabyPips has a calculator too but their site is sometimes impossible to get in to.

It sure did, +12 right now. I closed the $/chf as the lower TFs were reversing and I gave back quite a few pips, closed with +31 which isn't much for the daily but the mkt has been choppy the last few weeks. I believe the news at 08:30 ET was ...

I just shorted this pr on the 1H. The 15M shows 1 1/2 hours of down so maybe I'm late to the game, we'll see.

USD/CHF — At 23:00 CDT last night I sold the $/S @ .8992 on the D. TF A bit like watching paint dry but I'm now +56 pips. I have moved my SL to .9106 and TP is .8713. A very nice trade so far. Maybe I will change my early-to-bed, early-to-rise ...

As was suggested to me earlier on this page or perhaps one back, go to the 15M TF (if you are trading the 1H) and see what PA is doing. If the 15M concurs with the 1H, take the 1H trade. It doesn't matter how many candles are going in the same ...

I had one 1H trade, E/$, that lost 36 pips. All of my other trades, 6 total, on the 15M TFs netted me out at +38 and nicely overcoming that eur loss. Not the best looking setups on longer TFs this a.m. but I took what I could get. And it was ...

I should post my losses too. Sold E/$ @ 1.3428 on the 1H, SL hit for -36. If I had used just 1 times the ATR, approx. 50 pips, I would still be in the trade but the 15M has definitely changed directions so maybe I saved myself 16 pips.
