Craig replied Sep 12, 2009You must go beyond a vague set of trading cliches such as 'cut losers' or 'sell into resistance' (ask of a definition of resistance and you will get as many answers as people asked), you need a clear, rock solid set of conditions for entry, trade ...

Craig replied Sep 10, 2009LOL, to be fair, glib answers aside (the OP has taken this all in good humor), this topic has been done to death in other threads, everyone has their own favorite metric (DD, Win %, Profit Factor, Sharpe, Lack of Ego...). To restate what I think is ...

Craig replied Sep 9, 2009The question is meaningless, they are both fantastic traders if they can do that over the course of a year, a better question is 'can they do it year after year'?

Craig replied Sep 5, 2009It's the U.S. summer, happens every year, pull up a long time-frame chart and stick an ATR on it. You can see the volatility is better though the U.S. winter. So (fingers crossed) we should get some more action over the coming weeks, because the ...

Craig replied Sep 4, 2009I just wasn't very systematic with my approach, it was my first attempt at a NinjaTrader strategy so much of the time was spent learning the platform (and arguing with NinjaTrader support over bugs). By the time I had it going I had realized that ...

Craig replied Sep 4, 2009Normally I won't respond to such an idiotic post, but I hate it when people post bullshit. Try Googling 'D.E. Shaw', 'Ed. Thorp' or 'Automated Trading' (first hit), have I provided enough examples for you to pull your head out of your ass yet?

Craig replied Sep 3, 2009Sounds good to me, I remember writing the same type of code. Once you start to think about it, the whole sequence is rather subtle. I used to compare my results with MT4 set to 'open prices only' with the same data for debugging.
