I sold my position before bed last night (just after the spike down, so could have had about 30 pips more profit.) and now I can't decide if I want to enter long or short. I mean, this one has been going up very strong. I think it's going to keep ...

Is there news? Why are we running up so strong all of a sudden?

So far Cable has worked out for me very well. I lost a lot when I first started trading in EUR/USD and some in USD/JPY and some in a few other pairs. But Cable has been helping me get most of my account back. Sadly, I've made a lot less than if I'd ...

I got out of my long positions just now. I don't like those tails that are forming. Expect it to shoot up now. Har.

Right now it looks to me like we're still in this upward channel. image

At this point I think it's anyones guess. We are at the top of a range. A few months back we were making a bottom and some were probably betting on further downside while others were betting on a correction.

I'm able to see that, Pip. I wasn't doubting what you said. What I meant was, I'm not able to research the news stories for that day right now. Or what else was being talked about. Or what other numbers were released by the US or Britian. In other ...

You may be right, Pip. I'm not able right now to take a look at the fundamentals from Oct 25th and subsequently to see what is going on there. I will say this. When it comes to charting, there are many ways to chart. There are tops and bottoms, ...

Was trying to decide whether to sell my short and hold long for tonight, hold both, or go short. image This is making me think we are in a standard deviation upward channel.

Right now it looks like we are forming a bear flag, or a continuation flag, or pennant, however you'd like to call it. If I saw this in the opposite direction, I'd think we were building up for another upward move. I'm still long though, but the ...

I would say the charts are telling us that we've hit the top again and are coming back down. Therefore, if you rely on charts, you should be short at this point. I've been long for a little while now (Although I played the last top short). If we get ...

Yes, I understand exactly how the math works on this. Let's say we do it your way. We move out of our short at 164 with a 400 pip loss. Then we buy long because we think this thing is going to keep moving in that direction. Then it goes to 158. Now ...
