Gambler180 replied Sep 21, 2008The spread is 3 so have increased TP from 14 to 17 and decreased the SL from 30 to 27 to take the spread into account and I still get similar results in backtests. Edit: That of course does not work. There is still some pips that is un accounted for ...

Gambler180 replied Sep 21, 2008I guess it is this line you mean "OrderSend(Symbol(),OP_SELL,Lots,Bid,4,Bid + SL * Point,Ask - TP * Point,0,Magic,0,Red);" What should be changed to count the spread.

Gambler180 replied Sep 21, 2008Then there is no point in using any expert advisor or any mechanical system for that matter because as you said you dont know which settings will be the best in the future. I know that these particular settings for this EA have worked from 2000 ...

Gambler180 replied Sep 21, 2008I optimized it and if it is profitable the next couple of months I will trade it live. What do you mean about that you would lose your money in no time. The EA is good it just needed a few changes in the variables.

Gambler180 replied Sep 21, 2008I am not a big fan of martingale but I am wondering if it could be a good idea to make positions larger after x amount is lost. Max consecutive losses since 2000 is only 3. We know what the stop loss is, and we can calculate what that stop loss is ...

Gambler180 replied Sep 21, 2008Have you made a backtest with those settings? and what is the spread on EUR/GBP on fxdd. I have tested the EA with a 3 pips spread. Edit: I just downloaded fxdd and did a backtest with those settings and it is profitable. What will your lot size be?

Gambler180 replied Sep 21, 2008Remember that those time settings are very important. Here is a backtest with default settings. As you can see they are not so good. image And here it is with optimized settings. The lot size is the same (10 %). image These tests where from 2006.

Gambler180 replied Sep 21, 2008As nvwine said the settings are in post 18. I run it at a 5 minute chart. I have backtested at both liteforex and interbank fx and get similar results at both.

Gambler180 replied Sep 20, 2008Edit Okay. It doesn't look like the variables works. I get both buy and sell orders no matter which setting I use. Okay. Then that's why I didn't see the big difference.

Gambler180 replied Sep 20, 2008On the other pictures the graph does that look so nice in the end but I think that's just because the lot sizes gets too big. Here is a test from 2000 to today starting at $1000 with a lot size of 5 %. You probably can't see the numbers but it ended ...

Gambler180 replied Sep 20, 2008What the heck. Here it is. Remember to post your results please. Here are the settings SL = 31 TP = 14 start and end = in the asian session. These variables are very important. IF you type wrong here the EA will not be so profitable. Just run some ...

Gambler180 replied Sep 20, 2008Yes that's right but I am just a poor student and a vps costs money. I just found it at another forum. It was intended as a scalping EA but I run an optimization and found out that it is much better to increase target and stop loss. The EA has money ...
