Moved SL to BE. I see two scenarios for today: 1) ranging continues; 2) aggressive drop. I don't think we will breach 1.28 again. The fact that we broke resistance in an obvious bull trap / stop-hunt (and behaviour of other dollar pairs) gives me ...

Shorted at 1.2775 again, SL 40 pips for now. I think if we can break 1.28, then 1.29 or higher is on its way, and I will short from there. But it is also possible that first big daily G/U move is a fake, and we want to go much lower from here.

I shorted 1.277 four times in total yesterday and today. Sort of a groundhog day. EUR, GBP, JPY, gold, Dow, S&P all look to close near opening prices, after consolidating for a day or longer. Tomorrow I expect action.

Gold seems to be breaking up, so maybe GU will too. Would love to see it, I expect big move down next week, would be happier to short from higher levels. But would be surprised to see a break above 1.278 today, with low volume.

Ah, that's different.
I don't expect it, but worth a try.Cable Update (GBPUSD)

I think UK fundamentals will prevent a move like this, even if dollar softens again. But I guess if you are flexible about your TP, it may prove to be a great trade.

Hey, it's England, "the boys" will always know well in advance, security breach or not. The positioning before the news (same day or a day before) usually tells you the story.

So far today and yesterday, not enough force to break 1.267 or 1.278. I know a lot of people like big moves, but for me, trading is actually easier in ranges like these: you know where to enter and where to put your stop.

With EUR and gold printing new lows, hard to see pound not following suit. But maybe after another fakeout.

Some indecision around opening levels, with more room to go higher. Does not look like 1.2690 will be broken in the next few hours. Later today, speech by UK chancellor, it may move the markets.

I am sure you can trade successfully just looking at charts. I prefer understanding the reasons behind the moves; I believe it helps my trading. Suum cuique.

Today may be an important day, as we saw big moves for all currencies and asset classes. I would argue it can mean two things: 1) risk off is back, and we saw an impulse that starts a new trend. So dollar and yen will go up, stocks / gold / GBP way ...

You are correct of course pointing out that a parliament may override international treaty at any time. But Johnson's aim right now is not to pass the NI clauses (at the moment, they won't pass Lords anyway). It is twofold: 1) to legitimise the idea ...

Misjudged it completely. Huge risk off flows from London open, continuing from Friday NY session.

Brexit: I see only one way for the next few weeks at least. I would also love a break above 1.3 to short, but I also have a pending short just below 1.3, with tight stop.

Another test of 1.3, it looks like. Bulls have very little time to break it, with pressure from Brexit and corona mounting.

We know exactly what will happen. Commons will vote for the bill, amending it so that Parliament has a bigger role if government decides to break the international law. See, for instance: url . Question is, whether EU would be satisfied with this. ...

In my opinion, there is no way trade negotiations will conclude successfully unless the bill's controversial clauses are taken off the table completely. In fact, EU issued an ultimatum to remove them until month end (and Johnson rejected the ...
