I suggest using the BP "Position Calculator" in the Tools tab. Plug in the SL & Risk % and it will give you the position size. I have it in my Favorites tab but I now know pretty much what the 3 Amigos need for position size so I don't need it for ...

Thanks for the lucid explanations X-Man & LazyLobster and now from the real piprac: I mentioned in the original TMS by BigE that one couldn't ignore fundamentals when trading. someone told me to stay on topic! Well, I think the above posts clearly ...

Eur/usd — I overslept this morning and got in the trade late, 07:30 CT. Entry is 1.3022, Sl is 1.2842 (2XATR7), TP/1 is 1.3202 & TP/2 is 1.3382. ATR was 90 pips at the time and I'm using Britpip's entry and exit suggestions. It is amazing how ...

the 50 level — I thought that if the TDI had a good angle for a short entry then it is ok to enter above the 50 level. If the 50 level is pierced then one can assume a more powerful downtrend is in place. But I may wrong. And obviously the ...

You have a good cross but I think most of us would avoid trading in a flat market as seen on your chart even if this were a normal trading week ie Nov. or the coming Jan. And I would hesitate too because of the stochastic reading. Just my own ...

I would join for the learning experience as I have not been too successful on the D. mainly because my new D. starts in the afternoon. But I would contribute as best as I can.

I too have the same problem, I see a setup on one TF but get a conflicting or nonconfirming on another. Someone posted, and it may be in the other related thread, that he/she only looks at the TF where the setup is shown. I am trying to force myself ...

I see now what you are referring to, I didn't blow up the chart to see the previous close. I don't use the synergy style HA candles anymore, just the regular ones so I will have to pay more attention to those that post synergy style candlesticks. I ...

I'm no expert on the pullback wrinkle of X-Man's strategy but in his latest pdf he says: "If the previous candles are bullish then the (pullback .ed.) candle will form a high and close below the open of that candle." in your example I believe the ...

I think you have done an excellent analysis even though you are not waiting for the candle close and possible cross. Somewhat risky but by using a tight SL or lower lot size you should be ok. Fri NY session ain't the greatest however, I see that as ...

Hale M — Compare a 100 pip SL with the ATR (7 or 14 period, doesn't much matter) and take the lesser - usually the 1H E/$ ATR is around 25-35 pips which is why I think X-Man suggests 30 pips. Also, a 100 pip SL with a 1 micro lot is 10 bucks - ...

I am not doing real great with this 1H PA strategy yet but it seems to me that if I am looking 1st at PA then I should use regular candlesticks - the Synergy HA uses info from the previous bar and may not reflect pure PA at the moment. Just my ...

US/Cad — I shorted at 1.0238, SL @ 1.0255 & TP @ 1.0204, a bounce trade which I don't do very often so I just have 1 micro invested. Will close out early if I get a smaller profit at a stalling/sideways area. Not overly confident but the 15M ...
