I did not (and do not) expect a large gap. I don't think there was a gap bigger than 40 pips up or down in the last year, with some of the weekend news much more important than a lockdown (which was expected anyway). BUT: this does not mean that ...

Brexit deal is far from certain; mood is more positive, but issues are unresolved. I am also not sure Biden win is that negative for dollar; stimulus would be, but it is not likely to come until January, and two months is a long time. And contested ...

There are not many things in this world you can fully count on. But Brexit news to spike the pound is one of them.

Risk off. Huge spikes in corona all over the planet + stimulus not coming. Also, US stocks selloff means more margin has to be put against the losses, so USD is in demand. USD spike was long time coming, big boys just had to squeeze off sellers and ...

It's more important not what a tweet/news is saying, but how market chooses to react. When it wanted to go up, bad news were mostly ignored (or quickly bought back) and good news triggered 100 pip spikes. Now market probably wants to go down...

Not a day to buy without stop, really. It may rebound, but it may go another 100 pips.

Pullback to 1.3 area would be nice. Not sure if it is happening though. The market was nice enough to pull back higher before Frankfurt/London selloff however, maybe it would do the same for NY traders.

Moty, only please don't say "the drop is coming". From experience, this is a clear sign of a coming spike.

Hope springs eternal. Pelosi says she is "optimistic" and promises a deal very soon for a month now. I think she plays Republicans for fools, and markets are all too happy to be fooled as well. Politically, there is absolutely no incentive for her ...

It was a 20-30 pip gap down to start last week, then positive news just before the open and voila, almost 300 pips up in 3 days. So I wouldn't be too excited about the gap.

Entering now = betting on (no) stimulus. If you look at stocks, things start to look ominous. If you look at the Pelosi comments, she is saying White House and Democrats differ "on values"; in other words, there are many poisoned pawns for Trump ...

I think only total capitulation by Trump would be enough for Pelosi. I see no incentive for her to revive Trump's campaign as sending free money is probably his last hope (and Pelosi really hates Trump). So a deal is possible, but by no means ...

Lords will oppose it, this is not new, and after that it goes back to Commons and this ping-pong can go on for quite some time (but note UK has until end of the month to answer the EU letter threatening legal action). But the story says government ...

I think it is clear that market was either positioned long, or not positioned short enough for a big drop. Consolidation has to happen at current or higher price. US stimulus evergreen optimism (we hear about an imminent deal for more than a month ...

Market really wants to keep afloat. I guess big guys were caught by surprise, and price will have to consolidate or go higher before dropping. But you can only defy gravity for so long.
