I take great offence to this post, there are a lot of great contributers to this forum and IMHO you have just slapped them all in the face. I have learned a huge amount here and in other forums, met some very clever and inspirational people. If you ...

Dynamic within a set of static rules. Try applying static rules to multiple timeframes. If the monthly does x, wait for the weekly to do x, then the daily, h4 and h1, right down to m1 if you like a really tight entry. Trends within trends are ...

If you were given a trading system that a trader proved had a 70% win rate, why would you need to test it 10,000 times? Apply a few filters to any price pattern and the win rate increases, only trade with the trend etc. I agree we have to test and ...

not a waste of time — Time spent "learning" about all the different ways to trade profitably is not wasted time IMHO, test them all to see what works best for you.

Is 90% of TA useless?
- jag1966 replied Jan 22, 2011
Good post and I should have read it before I replied to Ocean. I would also advise to forget pips and use percentages instead. Pip counts are meaningless. On a really good day I may make 80 or 90 pips in 5 or 6 trades equating to between 7% and 12% ...
