The timezone is set by the server you connect to, not your client application. You can even have different brokers using MT4 who set their timezones do different settings.

Yeah, I think FXCM is one of those that throws a TON of money at attracting new clients then provides them with crappy fills, execution, etc. At least, it seems that way from what I hear about them from live traders.

No offense, but, it sounds like you really need to figure out what you want to do first and then decide how to do it. You seem to be going the opposite route, trying to figure out what you can do based on the options you have in front of you.

I understand. I think we'll probably agree to disagree on this. I do believe, though, you're going to be sadly disappointed at any other demo you try. I've tried LOTS of demos and they all suffer from the same connection and uptime problems.
