catiron replied Dec 5, 2010Trade with the trend off pullbacks. So simple, but so important if you want to increase your winning percentage. Don't just try -- I make it a prerequisite to entry.

catiron replied Sep 6, 2010I've been re-reading a lot of the material here (jduester's summary has been very helpful - post #23250). I was struck by a quote from one of Jim's posts that fits really well here: " i rarely let a trade run off of a DAILY chart more than 30 or so ...

catiron replied Aug 9, 2010... Plasmapants has the winning answer. In spite of the market moving in discernable trends from time to time, market noise generally takes out stops in both directions.

catiron replied May 19, 2009Marcel, I would not want to pretend to advise you on your risk level -- moving back to 1% is probably a good idea, especially considering your state of mind. But you should not be so discouraged by a single loss. 13 trades since February without a ...

catiron replied May 15, 2009Not much point in arguing about it - when I pull back on a weekly, this thing looks like it could go anywhere. As with all trades! (Ignore my arrows)

catiron replied May 8, 2009Rac, it's a few weeks old, but I really like this post. I have to ask you and jaroo and others who set their stops to BE quickly (30-40 pips): What do you do when your entry is triggered, but there is no hard break? It never gets to a 30 pip gain. ...

catiron replied May 4, 2009eur/cad — A couple of you have mentioned the eur/cad daily pin, but it doesn't seem to be generating much excitement. It's a double bottom and a bounce off some pretty solid support. There is some traffic to work through, though. Am I missing ...

catiron replied May 3, 2009Very nice poster. The PF identifies a setup that is rarely (if ever) mentioned here -- the Inside 4 Bar (I4B). In general, I avoid IBs because I don't believe they are as reliable as PB and BUOB/BEOB. Anyone using the I4B with success?

catiron replied Apr 30, 2009L, I'm sure you'll hear from others, but I can tell you that PA is alive and well, and the PF is going strong. At least as recently as December, when I was last subscribed to it.

catiron replied Apr 29, 2009I think you're right, there are enough good setups that will run. To be at break even during a pull back on a weaker setup is better than risking a loss.
