If you go with VPS, spend some time and learn about windows services. Service is a code that will restart any software you program incase of a shutdown. FireDaemon will help you do that, if you cannot install the "service" yourself.

You should look in MT terminal submenu "experts" and see if there is a problem with initializing firebird.
