Hey ThaoAnh, The difference however is that a real fighter pilot goes through years of training guided by seasoned professionals, not from YouTube "gurus" or internet forums for hobby flight enthusiasts. A real fighter pilot is also not self-taught, ...

Trendline Break (The Only System You Need)

I'd personally prefer to go long on this downward trendline break

Unfortunately it's not as easy as drawing a straight line. It only looks easy when the trader can draw consistent, objective lines which for me took years to learn. Unfortunately most traders can't do this because they are looking for setups instead ...

Reading the market, well said! IMO, this is most important skill and the key to making any strategy / system work. The rest of your post also resonates with my experience. I'm very familiar with paying loads in "tuition" for lessons I could have ...

Hey alfacentavra, I personally don't trade this pair, so not trading advice. But if I was trading this pair, I'd buy the downward TL break.

Hi alfacentavra, Just curios why you use candles that are so far after the uptrend peak for the major trendline? Hmmm...
I personally found it to be inconsistent, but that's great if it works for you.
I'd place the major upward ...Trendline Break (The Only System You Need)

Ok, this is a simple example but hopefully it gets my point across. When I was a struggling trader, this is the confusion I went through trying to trade "simple" trendlines. Here's a chart with the Auto Trendlines indicator that draws trendlines ...
Why does it seem so easy for other traders, but not for me?
- CoffeeFreak replied Mar 21, 2026
You need to focus on reading the market and alignment (not cutting losses), cutting losses happens after you read the market and recognize misalignment (market moves against you). I strongly recommend you do not take shortcuts. I learned a lot of ...

Yes, this was the philosophy that allowed me to go full-time 5 years ago, reading the market and reacting.

Nice
I personally have been in gold since $1800 and am riding the secular bullish trend. But I enjoy analyzing the market everyday. Just waiting for the this pullback to realign with the secular bullish trend, which might be sharp and fast. But ...Gold (XAUUSD)

Large move down during the European session, right now momentum is clearly down. In my long term view, this move is overdone but still too early to say when. Right now, it's watch and wait.

Ok, I can see the gears turning in your head, but you still haven’t grasped the most important part — and it’s the root cause behind most traders’ struggles. The problem isn’t strategy or psychology. The root cause is a faulty understanding of what ...

Well said, 100% agree.
We each have to play it how we see it. I trade the turns but it's impossible calling out the exact tops and bottoms, it is however possible to identify a price level that would signal and confirm a trend change with ...Gold (XAUUSD)

Again, you could be right. However I go by what the chart says and to me it says momentum is shifting and price will soon follow, a move through $5015 would be confirmation. Let's wait and see

Nice.
Hope you don't mind me adding my €0.02, otherwise please let me know. I trade a much longer time horizon, but I see it the same way. I expect 2-way pre-FOMC volatility. And considering the deteriorating private credit market, a surprise ...Gold (XAUUSD)

You could be right, but I'll take the other side.
Momentum is becoming bullish, market makers might try to flush the lows below $4960 to suck in more sellers pre-FOMC before heading towards $5200 post-FOMC. image No attacks just gold trades/analysis

My reply might sting a little — take a deep breath before reading. The way you're trading right now is like driving a car while staring at the steering wheel and GPS instead of the road. Or like a sailor on the open ocean obsessing over how to ...
Why does it seem so easy for other traders, but not for me?
- CoffeeFreak replied Mar 17, 2026
I'd say that most people get drawn to trading for the intermittent rewards it provides — similar to gambling. If they were instead told that success comes from patiently analyzing and observing the market, waiting for alignment, and focusing ...

Sorry about that, my post wasn't meant to discourage, but to inform. My point is better market analysis skills = more trader conviction = less mental battle.
