It's all about how you use a stop loss. When I trade futures, I seem a stop loss as a max loss per trade. If the entry is not good enough which means the stop loss is not beyond some structure high/low or VAH/VAL, I will just give the trade up. I ...

Cool, you trade pure price action on 1m timeframe. Do you use volume profile or other order flow tools to confirm price actions?

1. Win-Rate and Risk-Reward are designed for machines, not for human. 2. You are not a machine, so don't trade any fixed setup or system. 3. Trade the market, analyze the order flow and pull the trigger with confidence. 4. Those who only trade ...

Is anyone here an institutional trader?

Thanks again. I've read many posts of yours and found you heavily emphasize on risk management. I used to play poker and I find it interesting that the risk management between trading and poker are similar. It's all about win-ratio, risk-reward and ...

Reply to people think that it's impossible to have very high returns. We CFD traders are like CTA institutional traders because we trade for profits (capital gains). The following links are the CTA type hedge funds 2020 annual returns managed by ...

Thanks for your reply. It's a very rare opportunity to talk to someone who's inside the industry and would like to share an insightful opinion. If we design an indicator looks like $profit per $risk, institutions are probably the best, right? Then, ...

As an old school trader, how do you think of quantitative trading which becomes really popular nowadays? A system with 30% annual return is considered good. However, it's low for individuals to have a return like that, IMHO. 30% return is big for ...

Before I turned to another style of trading, I loved BB very much. It represents statistical facts. Shorter period and longer period of BB could be used to detect the overall direction, pullback and momentum. Another good assistant tool is CCI. You ...

Your fibo way of trading is interesting. I used to be a pattern trader and I find TP by measuring and projecting fibs before I turned to institutional tools. Many fibo traders fail to explain why golden ratio works. Could you explain it further? My ...

I think there must be a big good news for Eurozone to breakout from VA. I don't pay too much attention on fundamentals but I read some news about US reducing Q.E. Won't it be an appreciation for dollar?

I know that normal distribution talk but it doesn't convince me much. I think the reason is unfilled orders. Price would go there to grab more liquidities before continuing its direction. Low volume area candles could be merged together as a FVG ...

If I am on SierraChart, I'll just merge four profiles together because price doesn't go anywhere. You could see 2nd profile fill the imbalance of 1st profile and 4th fill 3rd. ICTers might call this as "fair value gap".

Thanks for sharing your points. I completely agree with you about defining VA and POC. VA contains 70% volume of the profile. Without volume information, we have no choice but use an area covering most of candles instead. I think that's the reason ...
