Carney: Not ruling out further QE and a further rate cut at the end of the year depending on economy. Corporate bond purchases however are seen as more effective and preferential.

Treasury accuse BOE that only the rich have benefitted from the rate cut. 95% of the population are worse off. This due to asset prices increasing despite lower mortgage rates. Treasury believe average household spending has been reduced.

Upcoming France and Germany elections are going to be incredibly unpredictable, concern the statuos quo will be broken. In France they expect current government to fall. High risks for Euro in coming future. Suggest long term EUR/GBP short.

Carney cannot guarantee there will not be a recession in the UK or negative growth. But he believes the BOE actions have reduced the risk of this happening.

BOE have no powers to enforce banks to reduce their lending rates if there is a basis point reduction.

So terrible dollar news caused a muted spike but currently 2 hour after the event dollar is making gains against every currency except the GBP. Is money flowing into $ again?
