pemully replied May 14, 2013incredible story .....i saw your trade explorer where it seems you have a T.P of 1 pip! is this a new strategy? I think there is a difference between short term trading and intraday which one aims for 50-100 pips reducing effect of the spread.

pemully replied May 12, 2013its not very hard to find an edge. As most have said, you have to find a way to know whether the market is in an uptrend or downtrend from a higher timeframe perspective .then use a lower timeframe for entry - buying on dips and selling on rallies. ...

pemully replied May 11, 2013I sometimes trade intraday but my most profitable trades are when I hold for 24-36hrs. I find that if you go for 100 pips+ then the spread doesn't have too bad an effect.

pemully replied May 5, 2013actually my problem is that I think the results are too good to be true. I try to let winners run coz the system relies on about 5% of the Mega trades....otherwise it stays just around BE.

pemully replied May 5, 2013the results are from live trading. I stopped believing in automated backtests since my trading involves discretionary aspects that can't be coded. basically I incorporate the tried and tested rules,but I wonder if its enough for the long run...

pemully replied May 5, 2013I think you have done great job with your backtesting.I think you should now do a foward test to compare.if 22% is your worst expected drawdown u could commit to pull the plug off the system if it reaches there...and observe if it will recover.
