Trotty replied Mar 19, 2012Exactly! I don't tend to hold my first trade of the week very well generally, I like to start the week with profit so nothing wrong with any of that as far as I can see.

Trotty replied Mar 19, 2012Cheers man. True but they're a very, very rare beast. My historical problem was taking profit too early so it takes a while to get from there to being able to hold part of one for a long while. What was you overall R/R on the GU trade?

Trotty replied Mar 19, 2012Well traded boys, caught the best moves of the day between you. Been a little too busy with work today so not actually made a single entry yet. I have now locked in 70 pips on my last third of my Euro trade from last week though and it's now at 170 ...

Trotty replied Mar 19, 2012This. That 95% fail or whatever real figure it is, makes it sound as if trading is so hard as to be nearly impossible and not worth bothering with. The truth of the matter is that most people attracted to trading are attracted because they want big ...

Trotty replied Mar 19, 2012Good spot on that little quasimodo/H&S. That long half setup from earlier was good in the end but no regrets, i'm happy taking the clearer setups right now.

Trotty replied Mar 19, 2012The story goes that he showed his hatred of the EOs once too often and the EOs finally snapped. They surrounded him, gaffer taped his mouth, tied him up in twine and kidnapped him. They now keep him in their cave where he is forced at knife point to ...

Trotty replied Mar 19, 2012The proper one I got was Forex Tester which was around £100 when I got it. The problem you have when you a trading a pretty much discrectionary trading methodology is that it's almost impossible to back test without a sim. That's why I stumped the ...

Trotty replied Mar 19, 2012Well managed mate, I would not have wanted to stay in that trade after the H1/M15 closes either. I'm still flat for now although I have a portion on from last week still on EU.

Trotty replied Mar 19, 2012I'm not arrogant enough to assume that there are no systems that can remain profitable long-term if used properly but I am reasonably sure that the vast, overwhelming majority of them will suffer such a calamitous period at some point in their life ...

Trotty replied Mar 16, 2012I'm going to keep an eye on those trades and see if I can make any sense of when they do and don't play out. I guess what I don't like about them is the way that it's kid of an observation more than it is a true trading setup. If I take a trade off ...
