My contribution to this great site. Thanks to all the people here that didn't try to solve my problems for me but gave me pointers to solve them on my own, learn and become better. This EA should either trail one Symbol or All, I couldn't find one ...

Thanks, I'll give that site a spin. Why would the OOP approach be better than the straight forward approach with my EA? IT's a simple EA, I think.

Thank you. I write simple BASH scripts using awk, I taught myself MQL4 from others' simple examples, I know what OOP stands for but it's way way up there for me. I intuitively understood your code as I was able to decipher the words "button" and ...

I thought I had it covered but I guess I'm still missing something. All the CurrentProfit values are NormalizedDouble to two places after the floating point. Obviously I'm missing something as after a few price changes it goes back to "regular" two ...

Took me a few minutes to understand what you're saying, I though OnInit() was only called when the EA is first placed on a chart not when it "refreshes". I've changed the location and declarations as you've advised, it seems like this did the trick ...

Thanks again. I've added the changes you've suggested, also cleaned up the code a bit. Still couldn't find the bug(s)/logic issues with my code but thanks to people like you, I am progressing.

Thanks. I'll clean up my code, not sure it will help with the current problem but it sure will make me better at writing code.

I take it you used the last version, right? If there is no profit, you can't see that the ProfitLockNext doesn't change as expected, and other such things, when it halogens, changing the user settings is messed up as well. As for the logic issues, ...

Yes, it works well if you attach it to a chart but if you hit F7 and change the user settings, it doesn't work very well.

Thanks, I'm attaching the version I'm testing right now, it still doesn't do what I need it to do and it's in a bit of a mess as I tried re-arranging things.

Thanks, I've discovered that already
I should have been clearer. My input variables are all extern, when I change them (F7), the variables that uses them don't reflect the new values if I don't attach the EA to the chart again.Help editing variables in mql4

Me again. I tried initializing my variables so when I change the settings (F7) while the EA is loaded so that they will display (and of course, evaluate for further operations) the correct and current values but I'm always stuck with the old ...

So, Friday. First time I'm in the middle of a Red News Event since I've rebooted my path, at first I was at a little loss which was great because I was in a bit larger loss to start with, I left my screen for two minutes and returned to find a ...

Hi, I tried changing the placement of some variables, at first it looked good but now instead of trailing it closes all trades when a jump occurs. Can some one help me and review my code with me? Thanks.

XAUUSD, 100 Pips Renko, M2 This was supposed to be a quick in and out and it did right that. Got in after a series of local lower highs and local lower lows, was aiming for a small TP as a support area was right there.

NZDJPY, 10 Pips Renko, M2 I placed some pending orders on an area at which I thought price would reverse, as this was looking like a slow upwards move. I'm still stuck with this trade, tightened the SL, will watch it unfold.

EURUSD, 10 Pips Renko, M2 Price failed at making a new local higher high, I joined in at the end of the small pull back, placed a few pending orders and went about my business at work. EA handled most of the trades.

EURJPY, 10 Pips Renko, M2 Not sure why I entered these trades, I was at work and it looked nice. But that's the thing, I should have more than just "it looks nice". In retrospective, I can justify the first entries and once they were in profit and ...

EURAUD, 10 Pips Renko, M2 Was hammering this pair, multiple local lower highs and local lower lows but a local higher high got in the way and reversed things on me. I was too busy to manage these trades so some went into profit and some went into ...

CADJPY, 10 Pips Renko, M2 Got in too early, even though I was going for a quick setup, it was too early. TP1 was hit, EA got me out for a small profit on the second trade. I'm very happy I didn't try to hammer this pair as it pulled back.
