medici replied Jan 11, 2010I do not disagree with anything of what you are saying, and maybe I am the one who should apologise for expressing myself in a way that could be taken as personal criticism or criticism of other approaches to trading or other perspectives on the ...

medici replied Jan 11, 2010That's the way to go, trading with the obvious trend until a reversal has been confirmed. Would like a bit more confirmation for a turn-around upwards though. But the 6152 level looks attractive...TWT

medici replied Jan 11, 2010Exactly. The way to trade long-term is to scale up with the long-term trend, selling into peaks on shorter time frames, and then scale out on dips as long-term support is approached. And in the longer term this up move may be a peak, but it's not ...

medici replied Jan 11, 2010Thanks! And that was pretty obvious from the action after NFP (not to mention the numbers themselves), adding further amazement at the shorting on that other thread. At least, let the dollar bears have their run before putting on a short.

medici replied Jan 11, 2010Thanks, that's very helpful. Just like you I think that ~15 pip stops for 1-5% of margin the way to go. I don't understand the people on the G/U G/J U/J thread shorting cable now with a 100+ pip stop when the trend is up. The only thing that could ...

medici replied Jan 11, 2010Hmm, I think that's because the Euro moved almost a hundred pips before consolidating around said level whereas the Austral-Asians forgot about cable, which consolidated before the move up this morning.. So consolidation and then next move up, I ...

medici replied Jan 11, 2010Yep, the theme is post NFP consolidation all across the board. Only cable showing weak signs of life. Still, congratulations on good pips!

medici replied Jan 11, 2010Next sell order hit at 6153. But if it breaks 6165 there might be some nice buy stops there taking things up to 6235. TWT

medici replied Jan 11, 2010Welcome to all newcomers to the thread! For the benefit of those new to this stuff, to summarise this morning it was about watching price action around 7am and 8am. Plenty of buying at around 6070 before 7am triggered a buy that half an hour later ...

medici replied Jan 11, 2010I'd expect plenty of sell orders from 6140 (23.6% of end of Dec up move) up to 6162 (23.6% of the range from early July), and more than this timid buying would be needed to break through that. But I've been wrong before...

medici replied Jan 11, 2010Much better! Actually, somebody did a rigorous statistical study of the predictive power of MAs, and it turned out that the LWMAs beat all the usual MAs but also all the fancy ones such as Hull, Kaufman, etc. I use LWMAs as well.

medici replied Jan 11, 2010I may be mistaken but it looks like the MA on your chart is a Hull Moving Average, no?

medici replied Jan 11, 2010Hi, and welcome to the thread. Less than a pip between open and close was the point whether that makes it a doji or not. And it was a buy by the rules I play by.
