Yes, you're right. The real problem is volitility. The markets are super quiet in those hours and I find them un-tradable. But I know people around the world are day trading those sessions. The question is, how?

I don't think I'd make much (or any) money if I dind't use a fixed profit target and 1:1 RR. In my opinion about 90% of all the ' how to trade' rules are nonsense. It wasn't until I started to ignore what everyone out there, every book, every ...

It did go on up to +10 like I thought, but not to worry, 55 pips and a slice of lasagne is a nice morning. It's got extra cheese.

I'm out with +5 and finished for the day. It will probably go to +10 but I didn't want to hold out for that big a retrace when the move down was only about 15 pips from the previous high. No losses today and so I will treat myself to a slice of my ...

Now I will wait and hope to get a reversal here Only if price action shows signs of stalling. Then I will look for 5 pips since the move down is not big enough for me to try to get 10. LEt's see if it stalls or not.

And now I'm out with +10 It's the bounces and stalls you need to look for. RSI touching 70 or 30 and either a touch of a decent and recent S/R line or price showing signs of stalling in an area that ISN'T a decent and recent S/R line. OR both ...

Horizontal support and resistence lines. Add on a 14 RSI (very useful!) and wait for those turning points. For example right now I am short EURUSD at 1.3079 looking for 10 pips. See chart.

Hi Darren, I trade on the M1 time frame and scalp 10 pips from short term reversals with a 9 pip stop. After commission the stop loses me 9.7 pips and the target gains me 9.3. You know what's really strange? My very first ever day of trading I was ...
Why did YOU persist after years of unprofitable trading?

I second this. That is the only motivation that got me over the many hurdles and onto the profitable side. Making a comfortable living from the comfort of my own home and not having employers or employees to worry about as well as having the freedom ...

Yes exactly! Adapting to the market conditions can be the difference between a losing day and a winning day.

I agree for the most part. With the charts jumping around all over the place in this unstable economic environment, it's hard to hit those 3 to 1 profit targets. But that doesn't mean a fixed profit target is for idiots. I use a fixed 1:1 RR and ...
What is your risk reward ratio?
- Roofx replied Feb 2, 2012
Most of my trades are slightly worse than 1:1. I'm a scalper and take around 4-5 trades per day on average with around a 70% success rate. When you enter the market with a 1:1 RR, you hve a higher chance of hitting your target than if you enter with ...

I know it is not done manually but there has to be some sort of stop los implimented in the strategy , surely? If the computers are looking for hundreds of small moves per day, just ractions of pips, what sort of RR does each trade take on?
