Nicotina, Are you very sure you were stopped out twice on Friday? I can only see once. I can't see twice.

I've never used Oanda. I have heard they are very bad about widening the spreads around news time.

Do you have a template for your chart set-up? Thanks

I've traded it off and on with a real account. Nicotina has posted the daily results with the exception of last Friday. I showed it to miss the PT by 1 pip, then turn down and hit the 50 pip SL. That could be different with different brokers.

I don't know the time your broker keeps. You're time zone doesn't matter. What matters is your brokers time standard. You need to find out how to convert your broker time to GMT time. Everything you'll do in forex is keyed to GMT time.

1800 GMT is 2PM Eastern time 0200 GMT is 10 PM Eastern Time Nicotina is not actually using 1800 to 0200 GMT. The prices he gives correspond to a time window of 1700 to 0100 GMT.

I don't think you can trade this if you can't watch the market. Not because of the 100 TP, but because if you do get stopped out, you're supposed to set your buy or sell stop up again for a second attempt. If you look back on the charts, this ...

I use IBFX. I don't particularly recommend them because they have raised the spread on GBP/JPY to an excessive level. I am looking for another broker, but they don't let a trade run through stops. They have reasonable spreads on the other pairs.

You might need another broker. I've been trading forex for a long time, and have never had price run past a stop, even on NFP day. I have had the spread suddenly increased, which cost me money, but never anything like 30 pips.

I doubt if a 50SL and a 100PT would work for USD/JPY.

Trailing stops always take away from your overall profits, in the long run. They sound good, but they don't work.

This seems to be a very good system- one of the better ones. I got stopped out this morning by 1 pip. My spread is 8. If it had been less than that I would have made the 100 pips. Correction- I wouldn't have made 100 pips- price didn't go that far. ...

Right now, we're looking at 1 PM to 9 PM Eastern. That's 1700 GMT to 0100 GMT. That will change to Noon - 8 PM Eastern when we lose DST. (This weekend?) Nicotina said he spent many long hours pouring over charts, finding that time window. I don't ...

The prices he posts here match 1700GMT to 0100GMT, not 1800 to 0200. As further proof, check the time of his post #33 tonight. He was giving the high and low for today's time window. The time of his post translates to 0100 GMT. He can't be waiting ...
