I refer to my previous post. That just looks like a directionless market to me.

For everyones information pivot points work really, really well on gbpusd 15 minute tf. Watch for congestion as a pivot is met then trade the breakout. Reversals can be good too but don't trade against a strong trend. I think lots and lots of ...

I use HA candles but leave the price level on the chart so I know where price is in relation to the candle. I half agree with you though, you wouldn't want to trade them exclusively without knowing where the price was.

Yes I guess that puts it into perspective. Glad you're ok now.

Thanks, I'm hoping I can learn to let things run for a while. Just how do you relax when there's money at stake? High oil is strong for CAD isn't it? I think I'll watch for a retest of 0.97 from below and then see.

Well I've taken some nice entries yesterday using the strong round numbers. I'm now long eurusd +250 (from the other day), long eurjpy +200 and just taken a long eurgbp after it broke the trendline. The big two are at break even and I'll be keeping ...

I agree with all of the above. I've started incorporating significant round numbers into my analysis in line with the "silent service method". It makes a lot of sense to me. So I trade with the trend but take into account the most significant round ...

Can I suggest that you read the "silent service method" thread through from start to finish. If you are trading daily charts this will really open your eyes. I'm not suggesting that you switch to that method in its entirety but if you had known that ...

Yes, I do believe the infamous Jacko did say that eurusd is the most trending pair.

Looking at the eurusd monthly chart this method would have been successful over the last few years but who's to say that wouldn't change? Another idea I had was to trade congestion breakouts using HA. HA candles do sometimes consolidate and move ...

I've been looking at HA on weekly and monthly charts. I'm wondering if you could trade all pairs (or maybe just the majors) on an always in basis the rules being you reverse the trade after the second consecutive HA change so if you're trending up ...

Well better to be safe than sorry. I am in no way criticising as the only person that benefits or suffers from my actions is me. It's good to know that someone else has the same ideas about heiken ashi on daily charts anyway. I prefer to use ma's to ...

I'm intrigued as to why you would use heiken ashi and then set a take profit. Why not just take the entry and code the ea to exit when a HA candle closed in the opposite direction? Surely that would be making the most of the trend?

This probably won't help but what I did was to keep doing what you are currently doing, pumping more and more of my hard earned wages into my account until I lost it each and every week. Once I had been doing this for a couple of years I gave up and ...

eurusd made a 180 pip move up today but it's hard to call Monday's move because it could well pull back after such a big move up. I'm always inclined to follow heiken ashi and let it tell me when it's time to leave like a sober nun at a senior girls ...

Nice but a lot of indicators to confirm what the HA told you. I'm going to hold my long until the daily HA changes wherever that may be.

Thanks for the comprehensive answer, that clears it all up. I've just got to get my charts altered a little and I should be good to go. In terms of NZD and AUD aren't they both driven by commodities which have been surging ahead recently but also ...

Interesting thread about heiken ashi. I don't know about shorter time frames as I never trade anything less than daily but you may want to have a look at the following and see if it would work on other time frames. I use 30, 50 and 100 sma's to ...
