EUR -> USD -> CHF would take EUR lower and CHF higher. No difference. This is closed self-regulating system. You cannot make effect on one currency without affecting the other.

In my opinion such move up on EUR USD means, that most of capital in CHF was European and retreat made Euro stronger. I think it's only temporary and soon this euro capital will seek for new securities.
