jesperweber replied Aug 16, 2009On the daily chart USDJPY, GBPJPY and EURJPY all show fresh dead crosses of the 5 over 10 EMA on the Thursday or Friday close -- admittedly, a lagging indicator and a deliberate setting to look at, but that's what I'm watching. The data out of Japan ...

jesperweber replied Jul 10, 2009Hi Holger, Sure, any trend indicator with a longer setting will help to point out overall direction. I just personally prefer using different types of indicators for signals (here the MA) and filters (here the MACD). I usually don't find it wise to ...

jesperweber replied Jul 10, 2009Holger, I forgot to ask in my previous mail... How do you deal with exits? On reverse signals or at predetermined levels, or is it fully discretionary? Do you set initial stops? Also, one more thought on using the two MACDs. If the slower one is ...

jesperweber replied Jul 10, 2009Hello Holger, Thanks for the input. I applied the MACD with your settings to my chart and you are correct, it tracks the price movements very closely. The MACD bars cross over zero pretty much where the MAs cross. I also underlied a second MACD at ...

jesperweber replied Jul 8, 2009One more thought — Add to this, I generally prefer going short (on any pair) because of market psychology. Just went short USDJPY again, but not in profit yet. EURUSD with low spreads across brokers should be promising, too... I know that MA ...

jesperweber replied Jul 1, 2009Asia session range — We are looking at a nice and tight range in Asia so far (the yellow-colored section in the attached .gif). If that holds until/breaks into the 0800GMT London open it could uncoil a lot of energy. Below that, at roughly ...

jesperweber replied Jun 18, 2009Hi! Have you thought about money management/position sizing? Wider amplitudes in the swings --> smaller lot size, wider stop losses and profit targets. Sorry if I come across as sarcastic, but most traders interested in this pair look at it exactly ...

jesperweber replied Jun 17, 2009Alternative usage of indicator — Hi, I've been using vForce as a supplimentary indicator on 5 and 15 min charts to help me with my entries. Very good work in my opinion. I personally prefer to retain some discretion, so I'm not using any EA. ...
