Leverage is used to calculate the margin factor. In SBing, it is usally about 1-5%. For you I think its 140 x bet amount(for EU). That means for every £1 you want to bet, you have to have £140 as margin on the trade. So if you have £160 in your ...

Goto FXCM open a micro account with £100 and trade 0.01 lots instead of demoing. If you can train yourself to be disciplined and patient while trading such a small amount, you'll have no problem with your regular SB account.
