I know XM are somewhat predatory but they're at least fairly big, and regulated in Australia, so I would hope if the worst comes to worse, one could complain and get satisfaction.

I will check out IG. CMC has such a poor reputation on FPA and elsewhere, I wouldn't risk it. Also it's not an MT4/5 broker but uses some kind of proprietary system, which is always a cause for concern.

I couldn't hang on after the huge rally in EURUSD, so it will be an amusing challenge to see if the system can get itself out of this hole I've dug for it. System update: switching to H1 timeframe.

Answering my own question - XM, although their spreads are ...not too generous. Their selection is very good. Cocoa, coffee, sugar, copper, corn, wheat, soybeans, oil (x3), ngas, cotton, and the usual metals.
