So .... USDJPY = dollar weak, yen strong = GBPJPY = GBP, yen strong = Yen rises against pound and pound becomes weak. But, we also have the GBPUSD = GBP, dollar weak so Pound rises = carry trade for GBPJPY ... GBPJPY = Pound rises from weak dollar, ...
